I remember when women visited each other in their homes, sat around the table drinking coffee and sharing their troubles and celebrations. They clung to each other and most had no idea how to change their lives. They could sign a contract, own a home without a man’s signature, support a family or make their own lives in the world. A few brave women started the movement and we all have lived with their hard devoted time they committed to women’s rights.

Thank you Thelma! The Helen Reddy concert is a very special memory of mine! My grandma made about half of my school clothes each year. I loved going to the fabric store with her to pick out patterns and fabric, more great memories. I used some the stamps Susan sent for stampingsunday this morning!

Tammy, I too was in a situation where I could have faced the same issues at 10. You knew deeply that it was a possibility, and that your life would be ruined, even worse than it already was. Anyway, I hope that we can move past this in our country. And get to a place where we still have rights. And where husbands and fathers are choosing whether they want to keep the baby instead of their wife/daughter. Anyway, this was a fabulous happy mail! How kind of her to send you all those goodies. They will be wonderful in your journals for the cancer center. It is so nice to hear you say that you are feeling better every day. You are so tough and strong! Hugs ❤️🤗
Sisters in trauma... It sucks that these things happen and it sucks even more to have the government intervene and dictate how it is handled. 😔 It was such a surprise to get such an amazing gift from Susan. I used some of the stamps this morning!
Hi Tammy Thank you so much for sharing about Helen Reddy. I went and educated myself better on her. I saw she was in Pete's Dragon, and I remember that movie growing up. I listened to her sing 'I am Woman'. It is so perfect for a woman going through a journey of things with her health. I will listen to the song you spoke about with the red velvet. I am sure I will enjoy it. I, too, had a red velvet dress growing up. I was born in 1970, so the era was still there. I was tearing up some of what you spoke about your childhood. I was in a situation for a time that still haunts me some. My heart goes out to you. I am still recovering from my childhood. It has taken me years, and this past year was the hardest part of my life. So it was hard to deal with many emotions that came from my childhood. You will continue to make beautiful journals with everything. Sorry for babbling on. Your videos touch me as you share. I have related so much to you. Take care of yourself. Hugs 🌻💛
There is a movie about Helen Reddy called I am Woman. I watched it during my cancer treatment. It is amazing how getting that red velvet from Susan reminded me of my red velvet dress which reminded me of going to a Helen Reddy concert, which reminded me of the women's movement of the 70's, so on and so on. Another sister in trauma, I'm so sorry so many of us have gone through terrible things. 😔I've been dealing with mine for quite a few years and am finally feeling more settled, I have worked out much with my younger self through therapy and self care and as crazy as it sounds having cancer and doing what is best for me has been a huge part of my mental recovery. Hang in there my friend, we got this!🧡
