I got the OUPES MEGA 5, 2 extra batteries, and 6 of their foldable solar panels. I have never used the solar panels to recharge the unit, but I did make a much longer panel-to-main unit cable. The one thing that I wish OUPES would do is make an adapter for the extra batteries that would allow them to recharge independently off solar instead of relying on the main unit to feed them. If the main unit fails there is no way to charge the system.
@@FarpointFarms take two car batteries in series for 24v, it will charge at pretty high rate. maybe 200w-300w.charging from a 12v battery will be pretty slow due the mppt controller inside. a redodo or Litime 24v100ah would triple your capacity. then you buy a rapid 24v charger for the offline battery. 48v possibly even better. just like solar panels, higher voltage is better. you make great vids!!
looks like a great powerstation. I see no problem running large loads unless you need them a long time. Still some run time on Large load. 800W solar ! that a lot. Now will it take solar and put out AC at same time. A few of them do not do that . Some will charge from more than 1 source at a time. Like AC and Solar . Now you need 120V water pump to bring Fresh water up. I got a 24VDC submersible well pump. it is great . I have a old school hand pump as backup. It is freeze break proof. In winter all you have to do is put warm water in top to prime and thaw out top and got water at 0F . We tried it. works. Nice to see reviews again ! We all learned a lot this past year !! Even in NY we get Hurricanes. The one before that got NC came threw TX threw NY left a path of destruction. Got us in NY with 2 toronadios did damage. Lost power. Sandy got NY and NJ hard. Time to stay ready !
Thanks for the review. I have all the old Oupes. You know, buy it now and something always come out better sooner or later. .
I think you're right! That's the way it always works out!
Good info! Something I definitely need to look into and expand my "tool box" of energy back up gadgetry .
These newer units are certainly a step up.

Hmm. That's a good point and a good idea. These are reliant on the main box to charge the extra batteries.
put a couple LIFEPO4 in series for 24v or 48v to the solar input to GREATLY increase the capacity of that thing
Good to know- thanks for sharing that

I am working on providing solar power to power our spring pump. It's one of the last "preps" I lust after.
I wouldn't get rid of your older slow charging Oupes...they can be used to expand capacity of your new power station. Connect them together.
Good advice, thanks
if I attempt to run this with my CB will I get alot of RF noise because of the built in inverter ? What occurred when you experimented ?
My most sensitive receiver for Shortwave heard no noticeable increase in static.
Man you look just like the transmission guy on tik tok.
Cool- I don't watch Tik Tok, but now I might have to
Bom
E.T. Approved😆😅
To you as well!
I think it is pronounced
O pus
Not opps.
You might be right
@FarpointFarms no big deal ... I've been researching this unit and your review was very helpful .👍👍
