"The Amazing Digital Circus" released its pilot episode, and has spread around the internet enough to enter my recommended feed. I watched it expecting very little, but other than a couple hiccups, it's actually not bad. These are my impressions.

I think Jax’s internal conflict is that he wants to be “the asshole” to keep himself and everyone else sane, but this approach is slowly eating away at him.
Being a jerk not only gives him a purpose, but also gives everyone else a target to aim their frustrations at. However, Jax isn’t solely interested in causing misery. In the pilot he moved the plot along on more than one occasion. He even tried keeping Kinger and Gangle safe from an abstracted Koffmo, he clearly has good intentions.
Though he may be perfectly fine in the pilot, I bet as the series goes on the cast’s distain for him will start to affect his psyche. Perhaps he’ll start to antagonizing Pomni for getting everyones love and care.

That’s definitely an interesting take. I can see that being used, but I’d still hesitate betting on Jax doing this with the intentional cause of being a common enemy because I don’t think that would serve to his benefit. I’d still guess it’s a way of feeling like he has some control as a coping mechanism against being trapped without control. He can distance himself from what the circus would rather he do and feel like he made a free choice.

The writing itself may not be the strongest point of this show but the lore, attention to detail and visuals definitely make it a must watch
Once again tho, very good video

Thank you! My current prediction is that the writing will improve. Introductions are notoriously difficult because of how much work they require, and I think the “on-the-nose” quality it has right now will relax once the writers don’t feel like they have as much pressure looming over them.
