    Stadler Flirt is one of my favorites.
    I'm upset that the silver line won't open up 2023 like originally planned

      Me too! Stadler FLIRT is one my favorites. But hey, as long the construction continues on the DART Silver Line. I know that DART will deliver. Other transit agencies propose lines and later, they cancel (or downgrade to a cheaper/mediocre solutions).

      It was a combination of the pandemic and political issues within the Dallas City Limits in Far North Dallas that delayed the project.

    Definitely going to use the rail on my trip to Fort Worth next month. Thanks for this!

    DFW is the only forward thinking metro in Texas that puts a priority on public transportation.

    • @RR64434
      @RR64434 ปีที่แล้ว

      I live in DFW and I don’t think either city or the metro area has the word “priority” in the same sentence with Public Transportation.

      @@RR64434but certainly better than Houston and Austin imo. And now they even got some starter funding for a high speed connection between Dallas and Fort Worth

      @@portcybertryx222 It is for a study. I doubt whether HSR is feasible in the DFW metroplex with the NIMBYs. There is nothing wrong with the Trinity Railway Express as is, and HSR won't be any quicker through the urban area... What is needed much more is a multiple daily HSR service from Dallas to Houston, if not a slow daily service...

      Indeed. Stadler trains are the best and I’m glad it is expanding here in the US. I’ve ridden myself in Switzerland and the ride was smooth.

    You rail line map is facing the wrong direction. Downtown Fort Worth should be on the left side of the screen.

    Are there any plans for infill stations between Grapevine and NRH/Smithfield?Looking on google maps it seems like an awfully long gap.
    Also, looking on google maps it seems many of the intermediate stops have poor connecting bus service and crappy pedestrian access. Is there hope that this could be improved so that this line realizes its potential?

    • @HOUExplorer
      @HOUExplorer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hope so that Trinity Metro will add an infill station and improve most of the station access. I know for sure they are planning to expand the line to medical district near downtown. Who knows after the completion of DART Silver Line, Trinity Metro may improve TEXRail service.

      They scrapped it for now…It was a pre-pandemic idea from a time when there was more commuters heading downtown

    Whihc is faster to down town - TexRail or DART. We have a 9 hour layover in DFW this weekend and never been to Dallas downtown. Quickest and easiest is good for me.

    • @HOUExplorer
      @HOUExplorer  ปีที่แล้ว

      DART is much faster. In average, DART Orange Line departs DFW Airport Terminal A every 20 minutes...travel time between DFW to Downtown is around 45 minutes (one way).

    • @RR64434
      @RR64434 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TexRail does not go to downtown Dallas. It only goes to downtown Fort Worth.

      Probably a cost saving measure, makes more sense to use what they already have than to redo it all for one market
