  • Jacque Waller thought she was finally free of Clay Waller, her deadbeat, unlikable husband. That was not to be the case. When she disappeared after meeting him, all eyes turned to Clay Waller. But no body would be found, and he would be free. Until his arrogance lead to his own downfall. Later on, when he tried to write a book, he doubled down.

And I agree, it kinda is like that - it's kinda comforting. The fact his own child was so angry and upset breaks me into pieces. It means that child KNOWS what he did and has to live with that for the rest of his life. The child's victim impact statement is heartbreaking. The fact that he calls his ex-father a "big fat jerk" repeatedly just indicates the limits of his childhood brain in not yet having a vocabulary adequate to express the intensity and severity of his anger and emotional pain. Clay not only killed his mother but he also seriously injured this poor child permanently and irreversibly in terms of his entire view of life. They should put Clay away so far that they have to pump the light in.

      Yes, that broke my heart. It really hammered in how tragic it is when this happens. Children should never have to suffer through something so horrific that they'd need a spicy grown-up vocabulary to express their feelings. These kids lost the only loving, caring parent they had to turn to for comfort and a safe haven. She was their rock, and their father chose to take her away from them. And they can't turn to her for comfort now that they need it more than ever. "Big, fat jerk" doesn't even begin to cover what they must feel! 💔

Itxs a perfect wxample of how absolutely ass backwards our system is, and how succussfully the government has burned a certain perception of drugs, their users & sellers, & those who are addicted/dependant on them. It's maddening & gross that we, as a society, let the government pull this crap & ruin people's whole lives because of friggin drugs. She knew this was the end, he's finally going to do it & she told him to think of the kids" ect. None of us know what really happened but, I get it's to paint a picture & sometimes through the victim's eyes, so to speak. Still I've thought the same as you said extra "fluff".

    Mike, the unwavering, unchanging format your show has (and has had thus far) is a comfort to me and something I look forward to on the regular - if you were to change your current format I would continue to watch your show because you’re the best true crime page on TH-cam (imo) and I have been watching you for YEARS, so I’m not gonna stop. But to answer your question, no… I don’t ever get sick of your intros or the way you present your show. Please keep doing exactly what you’re doing, sir.

      How does it "speak volumes"? Rather than just using a generic platitude, maybe you can explain? The guy was offered a lighter sentence to confess and show them where the body is. If they didn't offer that deal, they would've went to trial with minimal evidence and he may have gone free altogether.

      The man was a cold blooded murder, he deserves to be in prison for the rest of his life. That's where murders belong, not back on the streets. The only thing sad here is that you want people like him released to he can do it again, most likely to his children or in-laws. We have prisons for a reason.

    Love your videos though. From the intro to the outro. The jokes is why I stay. Although it's a grim subject there's no reason you can't inject humor and jokes into it. I never feel it's at the expense of the victim and that's mist important. Keep doing you!

    I guess I get why so many commenters found the son's recording tragic, but I had the opposite reaction; I was punching the air! I'm SO glad the boy was able to see the situation for what it really was, and have the courage to express it. I've seen way too many of these spousal murder cases where the poor kids are so desperate to at least have one parent in their lives, that they totally forgive the murdering one, or even deny that they did it, despite overwhelming evidence. Or maybe they KNOW they did it, but are then too scared for their own safety to say so. That's what I call tragic.
    But this boy? He's steps ahead of most little kids, maybe even most adults. At minimum he's going to be alright, at maximum he's going to be GREAT in some way.

    • @yesterdayitrained
      @yesterdayitrained 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      You make a very interesting point. I think many times the children do know- but what child wants to, on a conscious level, believe that their father killed their mother? This little boy was strong, angry, and deeply hurt. By one of the two people he trusted most in his life. His clarity at such a young age will serve him well for the rest of his life. I just wish he didn’t have to live it without his mother.

    • @rempanda
      @rempanda 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I don't think these feelings towards Maddox's are mutually exclusive. That little boy lost his mother who cared for him and loved him and I'm sure he loved her too. Losing a parent at a young age is heartbreaking, having that parent stolen away by someone you're biologically inclined to trust is devastating.
      As you point out, some children go in to denial and still want a relationship with the abuser or even stand up for the abuser, and while I wish they wouldn't I completely understand why it happens, it's not a conscious decision but rather the brains way of coping with trauma.
      I don't think you can make the decision that he's going to at the very least alright. That trauma will have an effect on him. But the way he stood up for himself and his brain refused to make excuses for the trauma, I think he stands an amazing chance of recovering and doing incredible in life with some therapy.
      So listening to the clear devastation in his voice and recognising that trauma he's facing I was heartbroken listening to him, but I was also proud of him for being so vocal and having that ability to recognise his feelings so young. So when others are saying it's heartbreaking I don't think they're saying that Maddox isn't a strong little boy, but that he deserved better.

    Your reenactments in black n white are hilarious bro. Like the added edits you started to incorporate in your videos. Always watch you when I get home from work. Keep the content coming man!

    I hope that baby was able to release some of the pain, rage and trauma through that beautiful impact statement. So sad...hope they find peace.

    No we absolutely do not get sick of it, my ten year old just walked in the room, as you were saying that, and was like “and my name is Mike” before you ended your sentence.
    You are a pillar of our household here lol

    I’m so glad he was caught (though I would’ve been shocked if he hadn’t, he was so dumb about it!) because he clearly didn’t actually care about his kids and they would’ve been next 😣

    I never get tired of the intro and outro! They are small comforting constants in an all-too-chaotic world ^_^ yours is my favorite crime channel your videos are always so well researched and narrated. And we love you too!

    I will never be able to understand the mindset of, 'I love my children so much that I am going to murder my significant other, so they can never get custody' In turn hurting and traumatizing the children even more and leaving them with no parent. Of course they believe they are so intelligent they will get away with it, but wow just shows how disconnected they are.
    I know this isn't what Clay's mindset was, but it has that same sort of feeling....
    as always all I can think of is the poor children.

      It's like the people who murder their spouse instead of divorce because they don't want to "offend" God

    There's been quite a few of these wife killers and their TV interviews, and they have a few different styles of trying to look innocent. The "mumble and hope the reporter translates innocence" is a tried and true method

    We never get sick of you, Mike. You are hilarious. It can't be easy covering such matters and still being funny while respecting the people involved - except the toe rags who killed them of course.
