Lovely reaction. Thank you. If u like the prayer, you should also love Pure Imagination/Christmas Time is here. It came out late last year. O Holy Night came out on 15 Dec. 2023. Another incredible masterpiece. Check them out.
Technically, Mitch is not a soprano. He is a counter-tenor, the highest recognized natural male voice range. I'm glad you looked up the song. Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli did this as a duet but the song changed a bit in the transition from (animated) movie to popular format. In the movie, the prayer in question is the prayer of a mother whose daughter has gone out to seek help from Camelot because of raiders who took over their village. The mother is praying "Let her find her place, fill her with your grace" etc. The popular duet changes to "Let US find OUR place, fill US with your grace". For the record, the song was written by Carole Bayer Sager.
They did such an amazing, wonderful job with this cover! It's too bad it never was nominated for a Grammy because some ijit at Sony didn't get the paperwork in in time. The song really shows off Mitch, Scott and Kirstie's vocal talents. Have you checked out any of their original pieces yet? Run To You, Sing, Happy Now, Coffee In Bed, Thank You, Be My Eyes, Love Me When I Don't.
Also "Light in the Hallway," "Please, Santa, Please," and "The Lucky Ones" are all originals. IMO, "Run To You" has the most beautiful harmonies Pentatonix has ever produced.
There is something so special about their ability, to tell the songs story, allowing us to listen with a new perspective, and hear & feel emotions, we may not have heard from the original artist 💖💖💖 Not only their voices, but their delivery is also their gift! *IMO, no other group, can build up a song, like Pentatonix* They are masters at pulling on our emotions!!! 💗💗💗 *They are individually so talented, however, when put together, it is truly magical* 💗💗💗 Thank you for such a thoughtful reaction 💗💗💗
Pentatonix has hundreds of videos on TH-cam and billions of views. If you concentrate on reacting to Pentatonix your subscription and view numbers will increase dramatically and you will continually be amazed at the versatility and talent of Pentatonix. Most of their music will be new to you so just jump in and enjoy. "Coffee in Bed" is a Pentatonix original and "Daft Punk" is a medley from the Daft Punk duo that did so much electronic music in the 90s. Since you are "Old School" you will appreciate the only acapella song with no words that ever won a Grammy, "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy". If you like gospel you will love "Oh Come All Ye Faithful". It's not your grandma's church sing along.
Thank you for your reactions. Choosing one’s favorite PTX song is nearly impossible. Personally, I must have 20 or 30 of their songs that are in my top three!
I just scrolled through your videos and I don’t see that you’ve reacted to their 2023 release of O Holy Night. I know it’s a Christmas song, but when it comes to Pentatonix it doesn’t matter when you hear it as long as you hear it, lol. You’ll want to do that and Mary Did You Know. I think you’d love them!
If you think this was a masterpiece (and I think so too, not denying in any way that it was), wait, not long I hope, until you hear O Holy Night. Great reaction.😊😊
I have been a PTX fan since they were on The Sing Off. I had the pleasure to see them sing this in person in Dec, 2021. They are as amazing live as advertised. They are one of my two favorite groups. BTS is the other fave. Have you reacted to Jung Kook? He is the main vocalist of BTS and released his debuts solo album in November (less than 1.5 months before he started his mandatory military service 😢). Anyways, I hope you will react to the title track off of his debut album, *”Standing Next to You”* . He did the entire album in an English even though he is not fluent. I think you will be impressed. There are some really good live performances at *iHeart radio (with a live band) and Audacy radio* with back ground dancers and 4 songs, After the song dropped, Usher saw it and it reminded him so much of MJ. He ended up doing a remix of the song with JK. If you want to hear the Usher version, I respectfully ask that you listen to the original first. Thank you!
The opening of this song is pretty much a Mitch-slap by itself! Those familiar with the original by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli duet probably expected Kirstin to start singing the lead, but nope! It's Mitch, singing the same line that Celine Dion did, and Scott singing Andrea's line - in Italian, as well! You mentioned Quest For Camelot, the animated movie this song was originally performed in. IMO, you're not missing much by not having seen the movie - it really wasn't that good. It did have a lot of songs in it, but this is the only one that really had any traction at all. And the actual version in the movie by Celine was very short - just the first verse that Mitch sings solo here. Even the soundtrack version was only about 2.5 minutes long, yet both Celine and Andrea (who did a version in Italian for the international movie audience) released it on their own studio albums before joining together in the duet that made the song famous.
Great reaction. This is one of my very favorite videos they do. There is a version of The Prayer from Andrea Bocelli and Katherine McPhee that is just beautiful. Can you react to that one? I like both of these versions better than than the Celine one....
Suggest you check out The Recording of Evergreen, a brief documentary about creating the album that included this song. Kirstin's face when she hears the first complete cut of this song will heal your heart. They are such kind, loving people and work together so well.
You could try the original or try out the Marcelito Pomoy version on America's Got Talent or on the WISH Bus. Both are live performances. Saw the original on a Christmas Special with Celine Dion.
Amazing song and Reaction. To hear Something different try their mashup of New Riulesx Are You that Somebody? Or Can’t Hold Us, Come Along, Perfect, I Kist Called to Say I Love You or even Papaoutai would be fun.
Friendly disagreement, but there’s no contest between Marcelito and Pentatonix, at least for this cover anyway. For some reason, I just find Marcelito very flat when he sings. He has range, but it’s either really high or really low and I don’t ever see a whole lot in between. Just my opinion. That’ll be fair. I haven’t checked out a ton of his stuff, so if you have a recommendation, I would love to give it another chance.
Written by David Foster and Carole Bayer-Sager, for Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion to sing in the 1998 film Quest for Camelot an animated film) Josh Groban does a version with Charlotte Church which I love. I do not like the original (Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli) prior to this being released my favorite cover is Josh Groban and Charlotte Church . I don't know about now but when Josh Groban was getting his start David Foster was his manager . In the Celine Dion (lso managed by David Foster the last time I heard) Andrea Bocelli's duet Andrea's parts are mostly sung in Italian where as in this version they switch to English after the the first verse. There's an interesting story how Josh Groban is connected to this song but that's for another time. Many reactors think that what Scott is saying in Italian is what Mitch just said in English. It is not. Just Google lyrics for The Prayer and you'll get the lyrics which has the translation of the Italian into English. Originally it was written that all of Scott's part be done in Italian. Mitch is a countertenor, also called a contralto. It is the rarest of voice types. It was not written to be a Christmas song. But since it appeared on their Christmas album everybody Associates the two together. The same is true of Hallelujah and seasons of love from RENT. If you have seen dear Evan Hansen there cover of waving through a window is stunning. There is a behind the scenes video for this song period every so often pentatonics will add a behind the scenes video
Absolutely lost for words so Amazing my favorite you should hear Mary did you know
This song and O Holy Night are my anti anxiety songs!
Amazing, Amazing, Amazing, nuff said.
Isn't it just all of that. Glad you got to this one. Thank you so much.

Every time I listen to them sing this the onion cutting ninjas show up and make my eyes sweat something awful. Thank you for this wonderful reaction.

My favorite. Mitch is one of a kind
Saw them on tour in September and they were phenomenal. Their sound is so powerful live...

Recommend their original, Happy Now.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 Me too!

You ran into the Pentatonix wall of sound. Wonderful reaction. You are adorable. Keep it up.
Amazing Grace by Pentatonix is my all time favorite song by them, please check that out as well if you have the time as it is truely beautiful.
If you think this was a masterpiece (and I think so too, not denying in any way that it was), wait, not long I hope, until you hear O Holy Night.
Great reaction.😊😊
Bless you x
I vote for Sing Off with your current context. Love your reactions to PTX!
Definitely in my top 3 songs from Pentatonix, Mitch and Scott’s voices blend so well together and Mitch is my favorite but they’re all great
This was my favorite until they released their new version of O Holy Night. It’s Grammy worthy
Love your reaction 😊❤

This was actually filmed on a Soundstage. It's not a real winter scene
Must listen to official video on Hallelujah ( THIS IS MY FAVORITE) and daft punk.

Have you reacted to Mary Did You Know.? It's an older song with Avi. t too is a masterwork. Just about every son they perform is A1.
Thanks!
Great reaction. This is one of my very favorite videos they do. There is a version of The Prayer from Andrea Bocelli and Katherine McPhee that is just beautiful. Can you react to that one? I like both of these versions better than than the Celine one....
Amazing Grace is my favorite also. Have you tried S 11:38 sound Of Silence? If not i hope you do so.
You need to listen to their copy of Seals Kiss from a Rose and The new version of O Holy Night both on their new Christmas album
New sub. TX for this. I am a absolute Pentaholic. Glad you love their music. Greetings from South Africa
Suggest you check out The Recording of Evergreen, a brief documentary about creating the album that included this song. Kirstin's face when she hears the first complete cut of this song will heal your heart. They are such kind, loving people and work together so well.
A man cannot be a soprano he is a counter tenor. The percussion is Kevin beat boxing.
You could try the original or try out the Marcelito Pomoy version on America's Got Talent or on the WISH Bus. Both are live performances. Saw the original on a Christmas Special with Celine Dion.
Amazing song and
Reaction. To hear
Something different try their mashup of
New Riulesx Are You that Somebody? Or Can’t Hold Us,
Come Along, Perfect, I Kist Called to Say I Love You or even Papaoutai would be fun.
Love your reaction! Keep it up! New sub here! 🎉
Of the two, I still like Amazing Grace better. But this is incredibly beautiful.
Let's try the same cover with Marcelito Pomoy, a really great cover

This was also done by the Celtic Women..
We need more baritone Scott…..Italian or not.
you should save your coments for after the song ends ....
And if you want to listen to a singer who sings both parts of the Duett: watch the interpretation by Marcelito Pomoy (live on the Wish bus)!
How they didn't win the Grammy for this, I'll never know, they lost to Michael Buble, good, but not great.
This was very much a "Grammy winning" song but alas it came out too late to make it to the Grammy's...
It actually wasn't. Sony ( or whomever was supposed to put in the paperwork ) missed the application deadline, so it never got nominated.
The album got nominated but didn't win

It’s no base drum. All done with the voice. No instruments at all
