You're on a skull roll these last couple vids! Really liked the med bottle too. I also really like the embossed ones. I rarely find them intact. Great finds and vids. Water is so low right now. Hoping to get out there this weekend!
Did you know there are collapsable wheel barrows you can use to haul out heavy finds?? ~ ~ That Bison had Teeth on Both sides of the skull.. Good Find.. ~

I honestly have no idea how to tell age unless I find one that's obviously an extinct bison species. All these recent ones are bison bison as far as I can tell.
Great finds. Have you metal detected for lead inside the skull with the hole? There were untold numbers of buffalo shot through the head during the great buffalo extermination from the 1860's to 90's? Are you preserving these skulls? Thanks
I really don't know for sure. The sand and water does preserve bone quite well. It's not uncommon to find mastodon or mammoth teeth and bones preserved in these conditions. Once exposed the bones don't usually hold up very long and they start to splinter apart.
Pretty hard to say definitively, they could be anywhere from hundreds to thousands of years old. I have found extinct bison species before that are certainly thousands of years old. As far as I can tell, the ones depicted here are the modern bison still living today but they have also been around for thousands of years.

How old are you thinking the skulls are ? Just curious that's all , they just got preserved really well in that sand bar
