I love how vintage clothes are so feminine and tailored compared to today's baggy trends. I don't like todays fashion. Lately I find myself autimatically byuing vintage inspired cuts, because I like nice, elegant clothes. Just take a look how beautifully made are those dresses around the waist and bust area :)
I leaped a little when you modeled your blue, '50s/60's nightgown. I started wearing the same as early as 1961. Even at a young age, I felt so feminine & special with its lace and cozy fabric. And then I leaped again as my mother wore a quilted robe like you have. It was a cozy huggable item! Please model more of you treasures! Thank you for keeping such treasures alive!💖
I had a blue nightie very similar to hers as well when I was a young teen in the 60’s! I felt the same way wearing it! I believe they were called “baby doll” nighties.
You have to take us on your next Up-shop(?) visit, if you can of course! I would love to see what sort of items and clothing they have, and maybe get some inspiration for what to look for when I visit one myself. I love your outfits and style so much, thanks for sharing it with us!
@@kristinburton4953 Ooh! That makes sense. We don't really use that term where I'm from so I was unfamiliar. My brain was thinking 'up' in the context of new and improved or something. Lol
What a delight you are Sage, such a totally relaxed and pragmatic attitude... only you could swish outside in a gauzy yellow chiffon number to feed the chickens! 🤣 Your taste in clothes and sewing skills are so on point too. Best wishes from Blighty xx 😘
You have a very good eye for thrifting lovely vintage and vintage style things. I can't wait until you do your kitchen makeover videos I'm sure you will thrift some amazing things for it.
I love a bed jacket. That was a must in every ladies hospital suitcase, when they went to have their babies. My mom told me that. I really like everything you showed us. I love the dresses and nightgowns, very cute. Thank you so much for the video sage💞😘🐓
Thank you so much, Sage, for this beautiful glimpse into your wardrobe! All of the items that you showed us are beautiful! The bedjackets remind me of my Mom! She had a drawerful of them keeping them separate for when she had to stay in the hospital. Some of the coats remind me of my Mom as well. The dresses are so beautiful! I especially love the two-tone that you made yourself. I wish I had your figure so I could wear those type of clothes as nicely as you do. I'm built more like Ethel (Lucy's friend) maybe a little bigger 🤭. Maude and Mabel are getting so big! In about a year or so, we plan to build a house with some land. We'll have lots of elevated raised bed gardens and farm animals. Chickens will, for sure, 🐔🦃🐓 be first. Thank you for all you do in sharing the vintage life with us!
I have the overwhelming need to try and make just about all of that, lol. My closet is starting from the very beginning of my vintage journey and has maybe two semi vintage items currently. Thank you for sharing and inspiring so many sewing project ideas!!
This video is everything!!! You have the perfect figure for these styles (I'm envious!) and everything looks lovely on you. Thank you for this wonderful video! 💖
Adorable pieces and simply timeless and classic! You can never go wrong with styles Audrey Hepburn or Grace Kelly might have worn. I recommend the classic film Rear Window (I believe that’s the name); with Grace Kelly & James (Jimmy) Stewart. Grace’s wardrobe is stunning in this film! Swoon worthy. Thank you for sharing!!
I was born in the fifties to a Mother who made most of our clothes. You really do understand the clothing of that ear. In closing I can only say Va Va Vroom Lady, you look so nice in that green dress.
Oh my goodness Sage , those were some of the most beautiful and stunning dresses and nighties i've ever seen and as always you looked fab in all of them. How I wish I was born in that good ole time. Thanks for bringing it to life again.
I LOVE the nightie at the beginning!!! I SO wish they still made pretty, feminine, soft peignoir sets that resemble that gown! I hate that things have to be overtly sexual rather than pretty and feminine now. (Please tell me I'm not the only weirdo who thinks this! 😬)
I think it too ^_^ I’m not the kind of person to dress super feminine, I like 1950s dresses on me sometimes, but mostly I’m trying to build up my wardrobe to dress like a greaser boy from the 50s. I feel confident that way :D but I still really think that. I don’t really like the clothes we see in stores that much.
me too! I find it really hard to find any modest clothes these days, especially since I’m a teen. 1940’s-1950’s are my favorite years for fashion, the outfits were so pretty!
I love your transparency and honesty... your so down to earth and I just adore watching your videos! I too feel like a princess when I wear my vintage nightgowns around the house lol 👸👑❤️
Some jackets from that time period did have 3/4 sleeves. So it could be an adults coat. I saw a picture of Jacqueline Kennedy in one like that with a matching hat.
Wow, amazing tour Sage!! That photo of the green dress on the board walk in daylight really highlights the beauty of that era and lets just say that boomer jacket is all you need to level a city...haha.
How fun was this!!! Vintage clothing fits you to a T! I smile at your excitement as you show your collection. Love your nightgowns/ bed jackets. My Mother wore beautiful nightgowns like that, they all had matching tops and my sister and I would play dress up in them. Vintage coats are my weakness. I have three that I bought at a resale shop, and I get so many compliments when I wear them. I hope the ladies that once owned your vintage frocks are subscribers so they can know how much their garments are loved! 🥰💕 Thank you for your channel!
Absolutely stunning! I love your vintage wardrobe, and overall look 🥰. Such great style inspiration! I love vintage attire and embrace traditional life as a homemaker. Your channel is such a joy to watch 🥰❤️.

I’m going to have to come to Australia just to shop because our thrift stores do nooooot have anything near to what you’re finding!! This was so much fun!! Do more please :) would love to walk through your whole wardrobe!
Love that last dress that you hand sewed the sleeves too, reminds me a bit of Janet from the Goodplace (in a good way, I love her outfit!). Also love that you used the black-and-white effect to show how the outfits look in the way we're used to seeing vintage clothes, but then also show it coming to life in colour :)
I know two years have passed but I'm going to leave a comment anyway. I liked all these dresses! If I can give you a hint directly from the Italian vintage, it would give a more complete look the addition of a pin every now and then. They were very used and loved during the years you boast of knowing. When you are undecided about whether or not to wear a necklace, quite often a brooch can be a savior. At least that’s my opinion about it. You look like a real, energetic woman, that’s why I like your videos. Keep it up! 💖
The first short coat that you referred to as biggish is called a swing jacket in the USA. Also the white blouse you referred to as Oriental has a little collar known as a mandrin collar. Love your show...lots of love from Birmingham, Alabama USA!!! I am 75 and grew up in 40s 50s and 60s watching my mom and her fashions....stylish lady!!!!
I can't wait for my (currently) chin length bob, to be long enough for this type of hairdo. Gnashing my teeth and avoiding a cut at all costs, lol. GROW, hair, GROW 😆
That Princess Coat (Double Breasted Grey) is so elegant. You do understand that you look great in all your outfit because you are in shape. Every single outfit looks splendid on you. I would also like to say "Thank you" for inspiring me to get back in shape (as best as I can being a mother of two). I have bought a few lovely dresses myself to wear often looking like a 1950's housewife and I enjoy that look a lot.
Your videos are the only ones I catch myself smiling all the way through on. You bring such joy and happiness. Hope you are doing ok with all that's going on down under!
Oh my! I absolutely love, love, love the vintage clothes! They were so feminine and elegant! I wish we still dressed like that! I'm 50 years old and just dabbling into the vintage look my self, although I also dress modern too. I have modern pieces that look like vintage remakes that I enjoy. Yay! I'm not the only one that can no longer squeeze into a dress!!! I have a dress that I hand-sewed from a vintage 1953 Butterick pattern, and sadly my more curvy figure now can no longer squeeze into it. Sigh... maybe someday lol. You are so lovely ❤️😘
I love vintage gloves! I have some pale pink ones that go past my elbows! I also have some hand-embroidered cream colored ones that just go beyond my wrists.
