oh boy, I've really been looking forward to this one. Northrend and Pandaria are still my all time favourites :)
Perfect timing, i was grinding professions in northrend, there i naturally became curious about what happened in each zone.
Northrend’s vibes are just so polar to what i see in current expansions, i started wow midway through dragonflight, so theres still so much to go back and explore
The black dwarves are still a mystery to me, its like you chase them from howling, to grizzly then to storm peaks…
I must admit i havent always read all the text so my grasp of the stories is incredibly vague.
take your time for sure. there's so much already if you've just started recently. To fully understand Northrend, understanding the lore of Arthas and everything that's involved with him(almost everything in warcraft3) The lore of the nerubians. In turn you'll be directed towards lore of the Old gods and then the dragon aspects and all of it is connected history of azeroth's major events.
Yes itll be a lot but its such a tasty and intricately connected story
The vibes are closer to what World of Warcraft is supposed to be. Not World of Hugs and Feelings, ft. Pokémon.

The land where Arthas died twice.
- The first time was when Arthas claimed Frostmourne.
- The second time when The Lich King was defeated on the Icecrown Citadel.
but he died 4 times.
when he picked up frostmourne he lost his soul
when he put on the helmet of domination and merged with Nazull he lost his body
when he fought the heroes in Icecrown and was defeated
when he was used as a battery until there was nothing left in Shadowlands.
The music and art of WoW has always been amazing, no matter their other failings. Northrend's look and sound is still my favorite parts of the game

a lot of wrath having cut content was the activision buyout behind the sceens forcing them to cut scope for wrath, it was intended to last for more than two years, there were going to be a lot more raids specificaly wings for the dragon temple, gundrak and icecrown itself was to binclude the dungeons as part of the raid itself, even cata revamp was meant to be part of wrath
I wish the Gun'Drak raid was included 😢 We have that massive Troll citadel/city we can't enter, and some Troll Loas that need defeating 😅

I think it'd be kinda cool if we had to sacrifice our character to make a deathknight... cuz I'm a questaholic and it bugs me that deathknights start at such a high level that it doesn't feel good to go back and do the quests.
I had forgotten about that rumor. That would have been awesome. You are being reborn so it made sense

bolvar as the LK should 100% be one of the most powerful characters in the lore, he had that dragon straif run, was tortured with the dragon soul if i remember correctly, and is undead, that dragon soul ontop of the DK powers even without the helm should put him leagues above all other native to azeroth
"Reforge his hammer" yeah that's part of the Shadowmourne questline
This inspired me to level a new alt through Wrath 😊

Wrath of the Lich King was when I also really started looking at the lore more closely. The vrykul being the progenitors of the human race really sold me 😅 I needed to know what else connected to what, and who, and why... Before I knew it, Wowwiki was my homepage & I was being asked by guildies to explain most aspects of the game.
Then we reached Cataclysm, and by the end, I realized the lore was being manipulated to suit Blizzard's bad storytelling at the time, and I stopped playing after downing Deathwing.
Good thing they were wrong about Classic realms, eh? 😂

I think that journal in VoA has officially done something no other lore has done:
Made me feel like an absolute dick for doing their raid.
Like, Archavon just wanted to not be bored and to have friends, and we fucked it all up because we wanted shiny things.
Are we the baddies?
My experience during wrath was just like the subscription line during that time. I had a ton of fun in the beginning. That intro. Pvp. Ulduar. Even wrath Naxx. All great fun. But the dailies grind. Dungeon finder making dungeons a to do list. And mostly bad, entitled players thinking raiding might be fun. All combined to make quitting the game the best option. I quit midICC and never went back. But still a lot of fun memories.

We did indeed kill Malganis in shadowlands, he was a boss in sepulcher with Kin'tessa.

The Oculus gave me hideous migraines. The lightning effects were murder on those us who are photosensitive. Still good memories of Northrend.
