I'm new to pigeon racing, can you make a video explaining how racing works, sending your pigeons, if you receive your pigeon back or are they always auctioned off after, etc.
I LOVE SMALL HENS!!! My pigeons have done well on my home course here in MN (mostly flat) and in the mountains (CO, UT, CA, OR, NV). My family of pigeons are usually on the small and small/medium side. I’ve seen where if it’s a tailwind or headwind of sort, my small pigeons still races very well. It’s the side winds that is still my nemesis!
Feather quaility is not because of minerals and vitamins. Pigeons are born with it,. Either they have nice soft silky smooth feathers or dry brittle feather quality!
@@chuhucha7chabrothersloft603 yes. Like wise. I do fly old birds. But if you wanted your bird back. I don't see problem give back after season also. If you want it.
Hey , i am new to OLR . and pigeon sport but i have 2 very consistent youngsters this year. the thing is they are not ''OLR Lines '' . in your opinion should i try from my own pigeons ? or go for cousing , grandchilds of famous olr pigeons as i dont have the money to buy winners form races auctions .?
Welcome! I would say if they raced well for you, test the kids. Race them on the club and OLRs. Only one way to find out is to test and try it out. That’s what I did. And that is how I found my current family. They win and do well on both the club and OLR level.
Nice one mate. I’m sending 6 to Pattaya this year they head off off in July in the second shipment for Australia 🇦🇺. I’ve posted a video of my team on my channel feel free to check it out. I don’t have to many videos on there I’m getting there I’ve been trying to balance the pigeons with work and family life. Cheers
Come pick out my yb for me. Jk. I like tip # 5. Too many people talk about their pigeon's pedigree and sell for money without testing the birds out themself!!
Lol! I’m not the best at this. It comes with failure and I don’t want to disappoint much. Lol! But yes, it’s true. I think being a smaller loft breeder, I’m able to test everything and keep what did well to breed for the future.
That last bird looks really nice
Thank you! Like I mentioned in the video, he’s off my foundation pair! He’s siblings in the nest right now are very beautiful as well.

Curious about your thoughts on small hens. Do you feel they can compete in tough courses with all different types of turain and strong winds?
