Great video, I've looked at this bike several times over the last year to replace my 1200 GSA so will be following this quite closely. Yeah, would tend to agree, but I have to be honest, being on the ferry knowing I've got two days worth of fuel is kind of a nice feeling. Not necessary, but nice.
Nice looking bike anyway interested to see how it rides. Melts my brain that a lot of the so called budget manufacturers are putting tubeless spoked rims on their machines and yet there is Yamaha still refusing to make the T7 tubeless in 2024. Australian here. Agree big range is good for us. Unreliable bikes are a huge negative. I would take spares with me for outback trips. eg fuel pump, spare ecu (prob expensive), clutch cable and throttle cable if it has one. of course tyres, tubes, levers incl gear lever if it is not a folding type..
As someone who has over 100k miles on the cb500 platform (99% on on a 63 plate and 14 plate) it'll do 10k on a service interval. Last valve clearence was nearly 32k and only 1 was out of spec. Do like the idea a 40l tank but it does seem like a novelty
Yeah I think this will be serviced the same. To be honest, I filled both tanks before setting off for the ferry and it's a bit of a mindset switch. Worry about refuelling in a few days time. I quite like it.

Would you have taken this to Iceland do you think?
will be interested to see a back to back comparison with the CF Moto 450 MT....similar spec aside from the fuel range. Only concern with the latest bikes from Chinese manufacturers is the reliability/longevity of the electronics. I think the hard engineering side of things is now more or less sorted for the price....Reiju make some great dirt bikes, but this is made under licence. Saw a Russian YT vid where the guy pulls the bike apart to see how it's been put together and he was pretty impressed.....
Yeah not sure on the electrical front. They all seem to run Bosch ECUs these days (which will be made in China) so I don't know if they're any worse than any others. I've got a few other Chinese bikes on the test fleet - Voge 300 Rally and Moto Morini X Cape - and both fine mechanically and electronically.
I'll be watching with interest how you get on with it Nathan. I've just looked on the Reiju website and they reckon that the 190Kg dry weight is including all the crash bars, centre stand, etc. I guess that under normal circumstances you could just fill the under seat tank, to keep the centre of gravity low, and only fill both tanks if you were somewhere that getting fuel could be an issue, or filling up somewhere cheaper when you know that you're going to be going through somewhere that fuel is a lot more expensive? Interesting also that the service interval isn't the same as the CB500X? Strange? Anyway, safe travels mate.
Yeah I think they're telling porkies on the weight claim. Same as the porkies they're telling about it being a Spanish bike. With a quarter full main tank it weighed 220 kilos. With both tanks full I reckon it's 240. No way 190 dry without all the bolt on bits.
@@nathanthepostman - my Triumph Tiger 850 Sport probably weighs less than that! I wonder what other porkies they may be telling? Anyway, I'm looking forward to watching your trip reports on it. Have a good one mate.
Im not a huge fan in general for on-road only riding with adventure type bikes. Doesn't male a whole lot of sense to buy a machine made to do offroad when it's only getting used for the road But as a commuter, those 39L fuel and cb500 known excellent fuel economy, is really tempting. Had weeks where i did 1000km in 6 days, so had to refuel every 2 days or so. 1000km would cut that down to once
Yeah that's an interesting take and just shows we all want different things. For me on a tour an adventure bike - not an off road bike - just makes for easy living. Good comfort and some plushness for back road riding, even if it's on Tarmac. But definitely each to their own. For commuting though, yeah, it's nice having the range. Fill up at the end of the week
Don't suppose we'll ever see many but an intriguing thing nonetheless. Looks well specd but price and weight make it unattractive - and one 20 litre tank is enough for most of us! Be very interested to see how you get on,have a great trip.
You do great reviews, I love what you do, and trust what you say, and hopefully one day will be able to join you on one your adventures. This is not meant as a criticism, but please dont dont wear those pink joggers on vids again.........lol

It deos not surprise me at all why a spanish brand does not push It's products. I live in Spain, I have visited Royal Enfield at least 5 times to get a ride on a new himalayan, they never have one in to test. I contacted RE dierctly who told me that the dealer does have one in for test!!!! And don't try to get a ride on a used machine....as they are not insured for the road. I spoke to a colleague and he said 'It's like they do not want to sell you anything.'...So a found a used scram at a suzuki dealer and he put me on a daily insurance rate for the test ride. If Reiju have the same mentality as the RE dealer, I feel sorry for them, you have to be pushy!!
Where are you in Spain mate?.. I'm in Andalusia for years now and have never had an issue with a test ride for any brand...fair enough they only give a couple of hours nowadays...pays to have your own country / mountain road test route to max out the loan time
That fat in the middle is killing the motorcycle industry here in the US. The Chinese have figured out that most dualsport riders are pretty handy, and will skip the dealers and go straight from importer to customer, saving thousands in the process. We have a Chinese CRF250L equivalent for $2,800, the Lifan KPX250! All you have to do is put the handlebars and a tire on.
Yeah I almost had one on loan but I passed it by due to the 3000 mile intervals which I thought daft on that size of bike. They've upped it to 6000 miles since which is much better. Everything I hear about the bike is positive. I expect it to be a good ride to be honest. I'll maybe get a go on one over winter.
I think the twin tanks is just a gimmick mate to be honest . Tell me where you're going to go and not pass a petrol station with in2 or 300 km ? . So 40 litres in total and 20 of them are excess weight you're pulling around for no real reason plus all your kit on 500 CC ?? . I reserve the right to be convinced otherwise .... Have a great day mate keep the videos going ... Regards mark 👍
I couldn't be happier with my 701LR with 500km range. I automatically have a spare fuel tank and pump, can stay offroad for several days, without the NECESSITY to visit fuel stations in towns and can fill up with cheap fuel before entering an expensive country. Sure, if all you do is travel between the pub and home, these arguments are mute... 😂
That's fine if you don't actually travel far. 200 to 300 km is nothing if you're off the beaten track. I've actually been sweating on fuel just traveling down through France! Especially if you're not using motorways. Loads of times I've taken a bloody detour to a petrol station only to find it closed. Who wants to have to keep an eye on a fuel guage or make detours if it's not necessary or have to plan their route because they've only a measly 200/300km tank range.

But as a commuter, those 39L fuel and cb500 known excellent fuel economy, is really tempting.
Have a good trip Nathan.
I'd love a CF450, but you can't get your hands on one.... And is the top gear just a bit too short legged and breathless?
Hi I've got the 450 mt first thing I did 15 teeth front sprocket and its a little beauty love mine ❤
Great video. We look forward to working with you. How can I contact you?
Don't suppose we'll ever see many but an intriguing thing nonetheless. Looks well specd but price and weight make it unattractive - and one 20 litre tank is enough for most of us! Be very interested to see how you get on,have a great trip.
I have one of these on my radar, it's a toss up between this and the Moto morini, would like to know your choice between the two 👍🏻
I've got a morini. I do like it. Probably a smidge more than this rieju. Similar weight, a bit more power
@@nathanthepostman Thanks it's good to hear from someone who has experience on both bikes much appreciated
You do great reviews, I love what you do, and trust what you say, and hopefully one day will be able to join you on one your adventures. This is not meant as a criticism, but please dont dont wear those pink joggers on vids again.........lol
Ha. They aren't the best, granted!
Nathan, you're only missing Portugal! Get ready👌😎!
You’ll maybe never need the range but have the choice to fill or not.
Bike is called Rieju!
Yeah corrected
Life of smokey (youtuber) reviewed this bike 8 months ago. Take a peek and tell us what you think, and maybe compare it with your findings.
Looking forward to more videos on this. 👍🏿
Yeah I saw that review. Made interesting viewing
Seen this bike on the old net for ages but like you say zero traction. Its another bike in the mix think it looks well , let's hope its impressive but cf moto are doing an excellent job. And I doubt they will compete with them.
You're right. CF Moto got it all stitched up at the minute. Great bike. Great price. Great reviews. No brainer.
What's the steering angle/rake?
Haven't a clue to be honest
You can get kove 800 for this much! I went for mt 450 and happy 800 km until now
You can get a kove 800 for £6500?
@@nathanthepostman In Romania aventura 500 and kove 800 X have the same price! Kove is 8.545,00 €, aventura 500 8.990,00 EUR €.
@@sniperule2004yes if that's the case in Romania then get the kove. Here there's £2500 difference
@@nathanthepostman Too much power for me, but a nice bike! I got the mt 450 for about 5500 Euro! Now it is 6100 Euro . Regular price for kove is 9500 Euro , but at that price you can get tenere 700 at 10.500 euro and trans-alp 750 at 11.500 euro.
hi nathan , can you do a reiew on the rhinowalk luggage if you haent all ready
I've used their 28L x 2 throwover bags on the Welsh Tetty, a precursor of the TET.
It was very overgrown in places and the bags stood up very well, a few of us were using them with no issues.

Thanks for the reply
Yeah I've used a few bits of their stuff now. In my opinion it's as good as you'll ever need. I wouldn't spend more on anything 'better'.
Thanks Nathan 😅
2495?
£6495. It's in the description
@@nathanthepostman it is now, lol. Either way a lot of these new bikes seem to offer surprising value for money!
@@antonoatYeah I put it in the description when I uploaded the video so should have been there. Anyway, yes, decent value I think, but I understand also why someone might think it not so great value. I guess a Honda NX500 is the same price and has better pedigree
Yeah it's too expensive even at the lower price.
Top heavy ?
Yeah moderately so. But not terribly so.
anyone know what these are called in China?

I'm amazed no one's come up with the direct to customer approach in the UK either. All that money lost and spent on shops + staff.
Nathan I’d love you to do a review on the Voge 900 if possible, I know it’s larger than you would usually look at but I value your take on stuff.
I think the CFmoto 450MT is better.
In many ways it is. But this is interesting to me.
@@nathanthepostman Enjoy it ! I am glad for you.
Please it pronounced Raqu.
Side profile very very similar to the crf1000l. It's like a mini AT.
Yeah you can see what they've copied it from
@@nathanthepostman Enjoy Spain mate.
@@PeterR0035 watch Riding with Toms Great Northern Adventure series. One of the guys was riding a 701 with LR kit and it gave him loads of trouble (the tanks specifically).
For Europe it doesn't make sense, but for other markets it may be useful.
@@musguelha14 Try northern Finland my friend. 400km on the Lappi section on the TET. And the service station was shut for Midsummer, which is a very big deal in Finland. Luckily, the next door neighbour to the service station was able to turn the pumps on and take cash, but if I wasn't a Finnish speaker, I think we'd have been waiting for our man to finish his juhannus celebrations.
