I like the idea of using Kajabi's email BUT email subscribers count towards your Contacts, which is limited in Kajabi (I have more than 10k email subs to move over). Could you please clarify this?

Yes, your email subscribers are the same as contacts! I started on the Growth plan right away (annual); with 10k subs, you should have enough of an audience to support the monthly/annual Kajabi payments.
