Glad you sound better in this vid. I love that your vids feature your life in the RV as much as they do the surroundings. To me that's the draw, seeing you living on the road while out exploring the country. You put in a nice mix of views, settings, and so on so it doesn't get boring. As a side note you've also pretty much sold me on class C life. I was going to go full time with a fifth wheel, but seeing how easy these class Cs are to motor around in, gas up, change the oil, dump, wash, overnight park, etc has me looking at them now.
for those that do not now it, petrified wood was formed from trees being under water in the lake that was in AZ. the trees would suck in the water along with the minerals and then dry out in the summer, over 1000s of flooding, the trees became tree looking like rock. I have one here at home, my uncle picked it up back when you could.
I am really loving these route 66 videos. I noticed that the walls with the Route 66 and the petrified route were not tagged. That should tell you that Holbrook must be a good area. You know in other places, it would have been completely tagged. Thanks for another awesome video.

I've enjoyed seeing all the Route 66 sites we saw when we drove it about 10 or 12 years ago. So much fun to see it again. Glad you decided to drive it that's something everyone should do at least once. Hope to drive it in a few years in our RV when my husband retires.

Can't believe you camped in Holbrook. We stayed there on our first night after leaving S Cal on our annual trip to Chicago to visit the grandchildren. Definitely take the time to visit the Petrified Forest (and Painted Desert) on your way. We're so glad we did. Glad to see you seem to be doing better on the health front.

The Petrified Forest is a must see! theres a great rt. 66 marker there too, on the far end of the park-(the opposite side from the rt 66 side) theres free camping at the little gift shop- covered picinic tables etc.. we stayed the night there so we could have another day at the park! there is a lot to see there not just petrified logs but lots of geology and and history there! cant wait to see your video there I'm sure youll do better than me filming it! but if you want a glimpse of whats there I do have a video up from there (not monetized) fun fact- its the only National Park that has a part of historic Rt.66 in it!
Eric, thanks for the Holbrook info; we'll be checking it out later this year. The Petrified Forest Nat'l Park is great. Also there are some Indian ruins so check them out, too.
I went on Route 66 back in the old days ( late 1950's) when it was still open. We drove from Indianapolis to Tucson to visit my aunt. Great old roadside attractions back then.
Good that you and others frequent the original Route 66 and the remaining vendors on Route 66. Route 66 is a huge part of American history and what's left of it should be preserved. The only way that will happen is for people like you to visit it and spend a few bucks to keep these remaining establishments alive.
Loved that Wigwam motel and the Rt 66 map. Couldn't believe it didn't have any graffiti on it. Lol. The town doesn't seem too busy...wondering how anyone there makes a living without customers being around. (Maybe they do a great internet business. :) ) Sure love the peacefulness, though! Had to laugh when Jax's head showed up on the overhang. Our kitty loves the 'upper berth', too. :)
Jax looks like he would be more comfortable, if you would turn his bed around, so that he could rest his head on the higher part and still watch the scenery, going forward. Love that cat!
Hi Eric my friend!! I'm happy to see you and Jax are having fun. What type of security problem are you having? Did someone break into your rig or what? might wanna do one of thee setups where you can monitor your rv from your cell phone while your away from it exploring. My concern is Jax safety.
AFAIK, he DOES have the ability to remote monitor his RV on his Cell phone, I believe he has mentioned it in a few videos. I would assume something failed and he had to go to another town to get it fixed or get parts.

Hello Eric, You say your sick. I'd rather be sick as a dog out there than feeling good here. I'm in a stick and brick here in Pa.. It's febuary and I won't be taking off for another month. I have those motion lights also, but no on and off switch. Haven't used them yet and am wondering if they will affect driving at night. Planning on buying a dog in a day or two. Good for security and traveling a companion. Time to train again.
April Mae the interstate follows close to Route 66. I recommend getting Jerry Mclanahans ez66 book, as it will tell you where the road goes, where it stops, and where you should stop at

As I recall, the Wigwam motel chain was a family owned business with 6 or 7 locations.. Last I checked, two are still operating.
