It's a privilege to have seen probably the last of the Dublin characters- Bang Bang in Thomas St. We used to nick a sliced pan from Catherines Bakery, go for turf in The Coombes for the old folks of Marrowbone Lane, take the floating bottles out of the Grand Canal dock then sell them back to the Brewery Bar to buy a gorgeous pink icing cakes from Myra bakery. As Pete St John called them The Rare Old Times.
