Akai Force, really comes into its own after latest 3.1 update. It’s a very versatile piece of kit. Totally agree that it’s not genre specific, and can be hugely customised. Best purchase I have made .

I got mine last year.. it blows me away every time I use it.. really easy to put ideas down and edit / create.. i would highly recommend one of these to anyone who enjoys making music. Loaded an SD card with all my samples n hits .. jam away and using on board synths. This is a musical instrument in it's own right.

Finally got one. The built in synths are immense.

I could be wrong, but everytime I see this guy, he's good at demonstrating the akai units. He never goes through the steps for learning. Now there are several TH-camrs That do. But I wish he would go through the steps instead of demonstration. We know how dope it is, show us step one to ten. Of course it's easy if you work for the company or you spend a year digging. I want instant gratification after I spent the money for the thing.

I need to know if this thing is capable of handling my live set.
i mean 10 songs in a vertical way, of about 500 midi ( to external polysynths ) and audio backing tracks.
Or is the memory for this very limited ?

    • @kgreggbruce1552

I would leave your set after 30 minutes and demand my money back.

The questions I asked at NAMM
    Akai Force Questions
    1. Export of midi?
    2. Resampling of clips?
    3. How many different scenes? (Arrangement of scenes into a song)?
    4. How is the os maintained changing out the hard drive for an SSD?
    5. Types of File formats?
    6. MPC expansions work on the Force?
    7. Are there any SD card capacity limits?
    8. ST2000LX001 Seagate SSD Hybrid hard drive. (Can this drive be used for expansion?)

Any answers on your list ?

    • @MonstaMunch101

      1. Yes
      2. Yes, using the same sampling tools you get in MPC devices
      3. I don't think there's a hard limit, I've tried with well over a hundred. CPU and RAM will likely be the practical limit and those will depend on what the scenes consist of.
      4. You download the update to a computer, plug in the Force, and the installer does the rest. It's quick and simple and happens on the internal storage, (you can add an internal SSD for your own stuff but the software itself stays on the built in storage).
      5. Not sure whether you mean for import or export, but the basic answer is standard wav, midi, and ableton for both. I think there are probably more options for audio but haven't needed to check.
      6. Yes, but it was a pain in the ass to work out how and neither the manual nor the website will help. You need to install MPC Beats on your computer (it's free from the Akai website), then buy the expansion, install it to Beats, then go to File > Export Expansion, then export it to your memory (USB, SD, whatever) that you then plug into the Force. Ensure you have a folder called "Expansions" on the main directory of the memory, then the Force reads it as an expansion and you can use it as one.
      7. I'm using a 512gb SD card and it's fine. Haven't tried 1tb but should also be fine.
      8. I guess so but can't say for sure. I have a regular 1tb Samsung Evo SSD in mine.

@@sonikblaksmif I've only had mine a few months but I think we can all agree 3.0.5 filled some much needed voids. The only thing left to hate is the flat screen that doesn't pop up like on MPC X >.>

@@MonstaMunch101 indeed.. the way to address the screen not tilting is to purchase a mixer stand. Which I’ve gotten a early Christmas n added a 1T SSD hard drive along with a stand. Rewatching this video has rekindled some ideas 💡. Thx 4 responding being that it took some time I’d almost completely abandon the Force n now I’m inspired to get bck on this thing n playground around..
