Russian understands it can’t compete militarily with the West, nor can it ever come close to the cultural influence soft power of the West, so it undermines it with cheap and subtle mass propaganda. It’s not ever that sophisticated as it usually just means recognizing a narrative that can undermine a government, a figure, or even truth itself, and then amplifying that message with bots in mass to confuse and delegitimize

I also don't usually read the comments on a lot of content I watch for this exact reason. It can be overwhelmingly negative at times. Personally, I like what you are doing. It's nice to see the mundane and boring side of combat as well as the parts that go boom. A lot of channels just show the flashy parts without the backstory. Here you can see it all. You are right, those troll farms exist for quite a while and is well known within certain groups, channels, etc. They try to shape the perception about the war and other events mostly in social media groups/communities such as vk, telegram, youtube. There was even a dedicated website that tracked their behavior and showed their profiles info. The best way is just ignore them and do not start a discussion. And yeah, they get paid for that shit. There is even a meme - 15 rubles for comment.
Thankfully the Russo-Nazi bots have NO effect on the direction of the war or the support because those with sense and those who are involved with the war don't pay them any attention. They're just consuming Russian electricity and internet bandwidth for NO gains.

That’s a fact!! I grew up with Ataris, Nintendos and Sagas as video game systems unfortunately.. Computers weren’t ish.. Just a unimpressive time really! But watching all these new systems coming out for the past 4 decades now, just absolutely blows my mind to think about!! Then to imagine what a kid born today would have to work with by the time they are my age. Honestly, I have seen couple videos and I'm pretty sure you are right. Comment section is just weird, there's just too many Russia apologist or pro Russian comments. I haven't really seen this in other channels that discuss war. There's especially a lot of "apologist" comments, aka. something that mitigates or minimizes what Russia is doing. Which is more subtle but effective since you are not outright pro Russia. Or there's tons of focus on those "poor Russian soldiers", I mean sure, war is horrible and it's sad what's happening, but it's just bit strange to focus especially on that when they are waging aggressive war against Ukraine.

I think the bots are a low cost attempt to nudge the opinions of viewers in the west (esp the U.S.) in hopes of reducing support for Ukraine if Russia manages to create a prolonged stand-off. i imagine the bots in the comments have less impact on then algorithm if they have not "viewed" the entire video. Another possible sign of bots is they don't seem to be sophisticated enough to intelligently reply to any well-articulated challenge to their comments.
The owner of, probably, most of bots is the same guy who own PMC Wagner. And they was active much before 2016. Also not all comments actually from bots, some russians spam and thread western people, not because they get pay.
The comments you showed in the beginning referring to the Totenkopf are prob. real people. They are from the video where you got your first "action". I remember this video well. But watching all these new systems coming out for the past 4 decades now, just absolutely blows my mind to think about!! Then to imagine what a kid born today would have to work with by the time they are my age. I honestly don’t even believe I could wrap my mind around it frankly!!… 🤷🏻♂️ Impressive is a understatement to say the least. Not to mention all the other tech that’s come out that’s unrelated to gaming too. It’s both an incredible yet very scary time we currently live in!!

There’s always Russian bots especially on videos related to anything Ukraine. It’s not surprising that they are on this channel given it’s content. I just ignore them because TH-cam doesn’t really do a good job of dealing with them.
Not just Ukraine, it's all over youtube on mainly news/political video's.What's really wild is when you get a video about China that triggers their bots, seeing as TH-cam is blocked in China. They're extremely unsophisticated compared to the Russians and it's hilarious.
I give those comments a thumbs down and move on. I encourage others to do the same.

Honestly, I have seen couple videos and I'm pretty sure you are right. Comment section is just weird, there's just too many Russia apologist or pro Russian comments. I haven't really seen this in other channels that discuss war. There's especially a lot of "apologist" comments, aka. something that mitigates or minimizes what Russia is doing. Which is more subtle but effective since you are not outright pro Russia.
Or there's tons of focus on those "poor Russian soldiers", I mean sure, war is horrible and it's sad what's happening, but it's just bit strange to focus especially on that when they are waging aggressive war against Ukraine.

I think the bots are a low cost attempt to nudge the opinions of viewers in the west (esp the U.S.) in hopes of reducing support for Ukraine if Russia manages to create a prolonged stand-off.
i imagine the bots in the comments have less impact on then algorithm if they have not "viewed" the entire video. Another possible sign of bots is they don't seem to be sophisticated enough to intelligently reply to any well-articulated challenge to their comments.

The owner of, probably, most of bots is the same guy who own PMC Wagner. And they was active much before 2016. Also not all comments actually from bots, some russians spam and thread western people, not because they get pay.

The comments you showed in the beginning referring to the Totenkopf are prob. real people. They are from the video where you got your first "action". I remember this video well. The guy you got there with on the white wan had a black Totenkopf patch on his rig. I am talking about the guy with the black MDR.

It is clear that the Azov is infested with fascist sympathisers. The Leni Riefensthal video they made some time ago really made me twitch. But they are not the majority, nor do their views hold much sway on the population unlike the increasingly fascist narrative from the Kremlin that is quoting from Goebbels little playbook. One does not become a Nazi to fight Nazi's. The Ukrainians may have their Azov idiots, but they do not act like Nazi's unlike the Russians in this conflict.
