- Hello Wayfarers, Pokemon Legends Arceus is my absolute favourite game to hunt for shiny pokemon in, but recently I’ve been asking myself, is it as perfect as I remember? Are Mass Outbreaks as awesome as they appear on the surface, and do Massive Mass Outbreaks improve on them to a significant enough degree? Are standard spawn hunts an effective method, and are Alpha Pokemon and other rare versions that don’t appear as frequently just as attainable as the regular Pokemon? The odds might give us an idea of what’s best but I have a feeling that it goes much deeper than that. So to reliably answer all of these questions and more, I decided to spend a full 50 hours hunting for shiny Pokemon, in the land of Hisui.
I used various pieces of info from Serebii.net for this video, and they're a fantastic source of help for anything and everything Pokemon related, so be sure to check out their site if you're doing a challenge like this!

my first shiny in this game was the static alpha rapidash in the first area. i had just started the game the day before, and i was just running around exploring when i heard the noise, turned around, and saw a massive blue horse. i couldn't even throw pokeballs at alphas yet, so the only option was to sneak up behind it and chuck my level 16 quilava at its back, so that it is stunned the first turn of the battle and i get one chance to throw a pokeball at it. had to soft reset for ages before i caught it lol. but then i had a level 50 shiny alpha rapidash for the beginning of the game haha.

I love the idea of completing and filling the first ever pokedex, because honestly I absolutely adore filling my pokedex. And the shiny hunting in this game is just also really cool with the outbreaks (but i myself dont have the patience), so like mad respect to you for obtaining so many shinies in only 50 hours
I mean, in one hour I get like 5 or 6, at least.

Shinies wise they are somewhat common, so if you ever feel like giving it a go I’m sure you’ll find a good amount 😎 That’s mainly why I wanted to make the video, cause I knew there’d be a tonne come the end of my hunting
Perfecting the dex feels like something you do in the offhand while shiny hunting rather than something to focus on for anything other than a challenge.
Agreed, although it’s so specific at times it feels like you’d really need to dedicate a good amount of time to it in parts!

50 hours? I spent 72 hours and only get 2 shiny in pokemon sword
Yeah that absolutely checks out, shinies are much more rare in Pokemon SwSh compared to Legends Arceus! This video was all about seeing just how good shiny hunting in this game is, and I think my 85 shinies proves that it’s amazing 😄
Bro, i played through the game twice, had like 400 hours in the game and used it only for masuda method hunting cause through both of my playthroughs i got only 1 shiny, and also a one that i didn't want at all
shiny hunting in legends is WAYYYY easier than any of the other mainstream pokemon games.
I spent 150 hours and got 35
I remember wanting to finish the story to start shiny hunting and while going up a mountain I found my first shiny at full odds. It was an Alpha Shiny Golem. This game got addicting instantly. Great video man ! I enjoyed every bit of it 💯

I once went for a massive mass outbreak to hunt ghostly and 3 consecutive shiny ghostly appears. Was having a perfect Pokédex on ghostly and without shiny charm.
Great video! It's so refreshing seeing people still playing my favorite pokemon game to this day. I'm trying to finish my living shiny alpha dex... with gender differences, regional forms, everything.

I was surprised to find the mass outbreaks have better shiny odd than massive mass outbreaks
Massive mass outbreaks have personally gave me more shiny’s by just flying to all the MMA’s and then resetting
That sounds like a good method too for sure! The trouble I had with this video was that I needed to compare them in a fair and mathematical way almost, so I had to throw out soft resets and really only use them in the way that they’re intended, if that makes sense 😄

When I do massive mass outbreaks I always save in front of Mai, have her reveal the MMOs, take a picture of them and then reset so I don’t need to spend money on berries or time searching the MMOs that I don’t wanna do
That’s a great idea! I just purposely avoided that kind of stuff to try and judge each section fairly if that makes sense? I thought it might be difficult to ‘cheat’ the system while still reviewing each method fairly, but I would absolutely encourage people to do things like you have to really boost your returns 😄

I believe that you can yes, from the shaking trees! I definitely know of people who’ve found a shaking tree shiny, but it’s quite the rarity 😊

Thanks but it’s not really my style. I like to tell the story of how my adventures go, or to challenge myself and record the journey, as opposed to reaction content. There’s nothing wrong with it but it’s just not my cup of tea creatively, glad you enjoyed the video anyway!
