      The Night Of broke that barrier for him, he was nominated for an Emmy; he ended up losing to his co-star Riz Ahmed, but still. And heck, he made a point throughout the video that he doesn’t really mind not getting more awards love.

    I first saw him in Secret Window, fell in love with his craft ever since, man has range.
    underrated actor 100%

    Monk is my favorite TV detective show, and John Turturro was amazing as Ambrose Monk, Adrian's older brother who was also brilliant but crippled by his anxiety, even more than the main character. Fantastic character played amazingly by John.

    I looove me some John Turturro. He's one of the few actors that no matter the movie, if I know he's in it I cannot wait to see him. Even Transformers. In fact, movies are better with him in it.

    I remember seeing him in a Campbell's soup commercial, where he played a cop. Had to be early 1980s. I was just a child, but I never forgot his face. Then I started seeing him in big movies and was so happy that I remembered. Must have been a helpful factor in my becoming a Casting Director for films.

    I watched this whole thing waiting for the O Brother Where Art Though story. He was one of the main characters in such a great movie and they mention every other movie he’s done that aren’t near as recognizable. “Do not seek the treasure!”

    One of the most versatile actors I've ever seen. The difference between the characters of Joey Knish, Herbie Stemple, and Carl Cody are profound, and Turturro nailed them.

    I used to watch John Turturro a lot in Cars 2 as a kid. I used to think he was Italian. It wasn't until I watched him in Mr. Deeds and Anger Management. After seeing him in both films, i realized he was American.

    I was born too late to witness his greatness. Had no idea just how far back his career went. Transformers was the first film I saw him in. Lebowski is the only film before that, that I've seen him in. Clearly a legend.

      Jess T. I don’t think he’s doomed. May be partly his choice. When someone plays a leading role that gets a lot of press/coverage/adoration they are often typecast-ed. He’s smart and will and has had a longer more interesting career than someone who leads a few films at their breakthroughs. I love him and hope to see him buying a coffee one day :)

    To Live and Die in LA....one of the best action movies ever.
    *He was hilarious as “Chuck” in Anger Management too.... U THINK UR BETTER THAN ME...BECAUSE U GOT BOTH UR NUTS 😂 😂

    That was my first movie I’d ever seen him in, as a kid.
