21 months, Baby! That is how long I have until I can finally walk away, no, RUN away. Hopefully a long, long ways away. If plans go my way, and usually they don't; you know what they say about best laid plans; I'll be in your shoes, narrowing down my choices. First, I'll do a lot of travelling, seeing the world and finding what place speaks to me the most. I do hate my job, but on the other hand, I appreciate it. I knew when starting this job, it would be unpleasant, but there is an end goal here, and I'm almost there! Like everything the digital world is good for some and not good for others. There are lots of online business that start, some fail, some succeed. Some succeed for a period of time, and then issues develop. The issues can be many and varied, but eventually the business fails. Alina has the personality, and the work ethic that makes her type of online business successful. This option is doable, but it is still work.
Alina started as a 15 year old. She could have ended up otherwise employed. But when that didn't happen, she grew her talents into a rewarding business.

Hoi, Alina, pretty interesting and well done. Good luck for you. One point not to miss is Health Insurance, not an easy thing especially when people got more experienced. Greetings, Markus
Hi Alina, I have just finished watching your video in full (I had previously watched just half of it), and I can tell you that what I currently do is teaching ESL on line (Native English). I recommend to anyone who is a native English speaker to take a short training program and get a TEFL or similar certificate and try it out. You will be able to work from the comfort of your home, and most importantly, work from anywhere in the world you find yourself at, payment will depend on a few different factors such as experience and whether you do it part or full time among others. I hope you are doing well, if I am not mistaking, already up in Bulgaria at this time, rgs
when you're a young and beautiful girl, all doors are open for you. It's not a challenge to become a working holiday visa owner and conquer world spots. but even after so much travelling, the bottom line is there is nothing actually more important in life, than settling down, having own home and family. unless one wants to become a monk.
Someone once suggested I use Rover to dog and cat sit since I'm not allowed pets in my place, but I never imagined it could be used as a perk for traveling too! The Trusted Housesitters website looks like something I need to consider the next time I travel 👀
You have had such incredible experiences Alina and you have seen and achieved so much at such a young age! Not bad for a small town Saskatchewan girl😊😊
Hello, Alina. Thanks a lot for the video. I'm watching your video in my car right now. I'm going to travel to European countries this summer. But I'm not going to become a digital nomad. I can't travel all the time because of financial problems. After the countries of Europe, I want to go to the countries of East Asia, but this is only possible in two years. Alina, you're like Indiana Jones, you can't sit in one place, but I understand you, if I had a lot of money and I, too, like you, would be constantly abroad, I think we are similar in this. Alina, when will your new live broadcast be released? I'm looking forward to it. Thank you very much again. Your Huseyn is from Los Angeles. 🇺🇸😄👍💓💓💓
Very much inspired by yourself and other folks like you I am 15 months into my digital nomad adventure and it's been a joy. My approach was "Freelance Remote Writing" and, more recently, I have folded in Pet Sitting. Cannot recommend 'making the jump' more to people who are tempted. (And yes, Pet Sitting is as glorious as it seems.)
Throughout 2021/2022 I spent about 2 months in Ukraine, and 2 months in Poland! Back then I had enough extra money saved up to actually relax, and enjoy travel. Great experience. I never felt so free, and liked the experience of being a solo traveler. Those experiences taught me that I definitely want this lifestyle. I wasn't able to establish a steady source of remote income, so I had to come back. But I've been looking into getting an English teacher certification (CELTA), and will continue to work on my TH-cam channel. We'll see how things go. Great video Alina:)
Would love to work remotely but I have no experience or qualifications 😞 I’m 30 years old and tied down to a mortgage constantly stuck in a never ending loop where it’s a 9-5 routine
I lived this life for years.. At this point I value friendships in one place with the same people, a romantic partner, waking up in the same place with my stuff.. I think its a really lonely way to live, even if you meet people while you travel; because you say goodbye many times.. Also, having to work is not so great, early retirement is better. I have seen so many digital nomads who are still slaving away but just are in a better environment.
Fair enough points made but I think you’re over generalising all digital nomads live in that way. By doing what I do abroad I will be able to save a significant amount of money which would put me above Canadians working a regular (good) job in Canada because the cost of living is so high. There’s also many digital nomads who form communities in different places and also work from mainly one home base so they do develop roots of a certain sort.
@@AlinaMcleod I think you prioritize freedom and money.. If you found a really good friend network in person (Online doesn't count) if you found the love of your life, did meaningful work.. You would be happier I think. I know I don't know you, but to me you seem lost. I say that as someone who is currently lost, very well traveled, lived the nomad life for years, and currently am perpetually traveling.. I know the DN community.. I have been everywhere it is.. Bali, Chang Mai, Lisbon, Brazil, etc, etc.. Lots of good people, but there is no way those people can be lasting friends because everyone is constantly meeting new people and moving around all the time.. A support system is important as you get older.. I doubt your Bulgarian friends you will make that will not really know English well will be that for you.
Alina, you have carved yourself a life through a lot of hard work. You were persistant and resilient. The points you made were well taken. Spot on. Hope you are doing ok. We are headed to Northern Virginia for Thanksgiving Dinner visiting our nephews and niece tomorrow. Question for you Alina ? If you could do all over again, would you do anything differently? This video was very thorough for anyone who is choosing this path. Sending you Love❤❤ and affection from Harriet, Jim and Yuki
Thanks guys! To answer your question, probably not! So hard to know how things would have worked out if I would have done things differently and I’m overall happy with how things are 🙂 hope you have a safe trip!
I'm glad you achieved your goals, I'm really happy for you. Keep doing your work, Enjoy your life and Have fun. I love watching your videos because They show me the prettiest cities in the world.
I started an online business but not dropshipping. I rent a live/work space year-round in the US to store inventory and live here in fall and spring. I put my online shop on hold and travel in winter and summer to Asia or Europe for a few months to source items to sell online. A portion of my expenses are tax-deductible and I can travel where/when I want. Since I maintain a US address, I don’t need long-stay visas, foreign banking or taxes. Prior, I was a corporate expat and digital nomad and have been to 40 countries since 1990.
I have 4 years left in the USA and looking at moving abroad. Only downside for me is that I would have to re-invent my channel or go somewhere like the UK, EU, Australia which negates the savings in most cases.
Hello Alina. I will quit my job next year ... for retirement ;-) I guess I am in #7 category. Just read today so many young thai people are unemployed after university studies (about 62%)...that's why being a job contender as an expat in country like Thailand can be daring. Many skills required.
Hi Alina, this is a good topic. I'm a digital nomad myself, working as a freelance writer for an SEO company based in the UK. It's my love for traveling that motivated me to pursue freelancing. I'm now living a digital nomad life and have been to over 30 countries :) But here's a topic you may want to consider for your next video - how do you stay mentally healthy while traveling full-time? This is an area I was struggling with especially since I travel solo and I'm not very sociable. Now, I'm back home, spending time with family and friends, so things have been better. But planning to embark on a trip soon and I'm scared I'll get depressed again. Would love to hear your thoughts. Of course, I know therapy really helps. But besides that, what are other things you do to stay sane while away from loved ones for a long time?
I'm glad you made it happen as well! Great question about mental health though, will consider doing a whole video about it in the future since it's certainly something I struggled with as well. But to answer off the top of my head, I think every person is going to have their own balance of what works. I've realized I need to have my own home base where I build a core group of friends/family and then travel/work remotely half of the year. That's what I'll be trying out this coming year so will see how it goes!
Would add to the video also do the travelling either before you commit to kids and family or before you parents are very old. You might be putting it off until later to wake up and realize that a few decades of your adult life passed very fast and your income did not raise significantly, you could not afford to travel or as many people in Canada had only 2-3 week vacation which was put to randoms days off or duty traveling. There is no clear guaranteed future and past can be viewed in various ways however there is still today. How you view your future might not be how it will actually be.
You can monetize all your skills now a days. Recruitment/HR consulting, graphic design, UX/UI. Honestly, you can monetize anything if you know how to market yourself.
Looking at on-line work or businesses but ( need to go for now) , but now I am back. I don't have any time to start even an on-line business. My job tends to consume all my time and I am heading to full social security in 1 yr and 3 months which means I need to start working on a business after I get my social security. This will result in a loss of income until I can get my business earning money. This stinks and my employer of course could care less.
Well, the problem is that everyone is opening online businesses. At some point you end up with market saturation in that arena. But, if I were gonna open a business, I'd build fallout shelters that can be moved by truck and buried in backyards. My online store would specialize in nonperishable foods to stock the fallout shelters, like SPAM and Beanie Weenies! 😂 ❤
Wow, "business" is sure a different thing lately. I saw a guy with his personal car delivering parcels. Not sure if a "side hustle" or something else. Takes me back to the Great Recession. I posted online that the only SECURE job for anyone was self-employment. Corporations threw their employees out like trash. Now, large numbers are in that exact situation. Side hustles as security. Cottage industries more or less. I guess if one has normal employment and a good habit of saving, the side hustle can provide savings. BUT. Huge but. DON'T run up credit card balances. I never did. My dad hated debt and it rubbed off on me.
I recently started a marketplace teaching platform to diversify my income. I'm in the process of generating online content for it & hope to attract user generated content too. that they can benefit as a revenue source. Remains to be seen if it'll take off but at least, doesn't cost me a lot even if it doesn't. Got the idea to do an online marketplace business model. All the best for your move to Bulgaria, Alina.

I’m a public servant in Ontario but I can’t work remotely. Too late for me to quit since I have 15 years of service. Have any tips 😂 I feel stuck in this lame city and it’s taking a toll on me ughhh
What scare me for long term travel is stability of living & food. I see too many long term youtubers putting so much weight on them along the journey due to instability of living and food condition.
I believe beside what your mentioned in the video you have forget to say investing it doesn't necessarily to have a lot of money to start because a lot of options is thier the most important to have financial goal and start working to have cash flow income so better to pay for assets rather than pay for commitment and save your money from inflation simply make the money work for you to become financial independent then become financial free 👍
Absolutely, investments can be the best way to create passive income. I didn't mention it in the list since it's usually something that will take years, if not decades for most people to live off of full time.
@AlinaMcleod it's doesn't necessarily it's depends on the options that you choose I believe investment it's accumulate process but it's depand on the risk you take it if it's high you will get more growth with income but can be get lose or delayed but simply diversity and make more options will reduce it even If you good cash you can't put all the eggs in one basket and sometimes within less than year you can change a lot if you choose good investment 👍
Very good video Alina but how on earth have you not heard of house and pet sitting? 🤔🤨 I've been doing that all over the world since 2013, yes 11 years and you've just heard of it now? 😯🤣🤣 It's huge in America, Canada and the UK and getting bigger in Europe and Asia as well, I love it 👍🥳
Well if you’re dumb about it, sure. For many digital nomads they can save way more money by living in lower cost countries and building up their own retirement accounts.
@ I can see that if you have some emotional connection to the lower-cost country, otherwise it’s a torture and not worth the extra buck. It’s in human nature to seek connection with people/places.
Yes, obviously they do. Someone who had their own business selling whatever product/service gets paid by a client. The money doesn’t magically come from thin air lol

I hope it works out for you!
U should also visit Tampa Florida USA 🇺🇸😀
the only what's i achieved in my life traveling around the world .the rest upside down.

I’m a public servant in Ontario but I can’t work remotely. Too late for me to quit since I have 15 years of service. Have any tips 😂 I feel stuck in this lame city and it’s taking a toll on me ughhh
Use a VPN Alina has some discount codes 😂😂😂
Beautiful n cute vlogger 🙈☺️
What scare me for long term travel is stability of living & food. I see too many long term youtubers putting so much weight on them along the journey due to instability of living and food condition.
ideally english is your native language and you grew up in a country like canada , the us, australia or belize
I hope eventually one day you meet a nice young man and make a commitment to settle down.
Do you pay Canadian taxes? When you get old do you come back Canada to enjoy free healthcare?
Yes I’ve paid 15 years of Canadian taxes and to be honest there’s great healthcare in many other countries.
@@AlinaMcleod You know nothing abut healthcare until you need it
I believe beside what your mentioned in the video you have forget to say investing it doesn't necessarily to have a lot of money to start because a lot of options is thier the most important to have financial goal and start working to have cash flow income so better to pay for assets rather than pay for commitment and save your money from inflation simply make the money work for you to become financial independent then become financial free 👍
Absolutely, investments can be the best way to create passive income. I didn't mention it in the list since it's usually something that will take years, if not decades for most people to live off of full time.
@AlinaMcleod it's doesn't necessarily it's depends on the options that you choose I believe investment it's accumulate process but it's depand on the risk you take it if it's high you will get more growth with income but can be get lose or delayed but simply diversity and make more options will reduce it even If you good cash you can't put all the eggs in one basket and sometimes within less than year you can change a lot if you choose good investment 👍
seems many people hate their jobs.
Very good video Alina but how on earth have you not heard of house and pet sitting? 🤔🤨
I've been doing that all over the world since 2013, yes 11 years and you've just heard of it now? 😯🤣🤣
It's huge in America, Canada and the UK and getting bigger in Europe and Asia as well, I love it 👍🥳
I know, I’m shocked I hadn’t as well 😅
May i join ? ❤
Keren

You sound like a newscaster. 📰
#8: build your passive income so your money will work for you.
A recipe on how to end up homeless with $0 pension when ready to retire.
The most beautiful Girl ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍😍😍😍 on planet
