Hey Chris! Man, I just wanted to thank you personally for everything you do here. You are a true inspiration and hero to look up to. I wanted you to know that I have been working on holding the pick while playing with the fingers for a while, and until watching your videos, it never dawned on me to try it your way. Now I am seamlessly moving the pick back and forth, while trying to change the tone dynamically using fingers and the pick. Although because my strong fingers to play with are my thumb and first finger, I cup the pick under my middle finger to be able to play with thumb and first. Anyways, keep up the awesome videos, stay safe, and never stop playing bro!
Just wanted to say that for those. like me, who only have a Helix LT and therefore can't run all 10 stompboxes (we only have 8 in the LT) you can still make this amazing setup work really well - or any setup that relies heavily on gain staging drive pedals and multiple delays or modulations. I first remove the compressor from a pedal slot and put it at the end of the chain - my preferred position from compression in the Helix. Then I removed the modulation (Tremolo in this case but it works for any) from a tap pedal slot and assigned it to volume pedal slot 2 (volume being in slot 1). You can then bring the tremolo or any modulation into the mix by controlling the Mix parameter with the pedal. For Chris' setup here I have the 5 drive/fuzz pedals and 3 delays on the footswitches and it works great. I'm not sure I need 5 overdrives personally - I think with Fuzz, Teemah, Tone Sovereign, and Minotaur I could get all the gain I need and more so could have the trem as a footswitch or even another option like Volume and Wah - decisions, decisions. Anyway - if you're worried you can't make this work on an LT don't - give it a try you'll come up with some amazing tones, even if your fingers don't make it sound as good as Chris' do.
Sounds very very good, it’s amazing how far digital has come, I remember when you posted this on Instagram and I was listening and then realized you were using a Helix and I have your single of slow train and I was just blown away, I couldn’t heard the difference!

Awesome Chris ... Your guitar playing technique is incredible definitely a fan!!........ I also use the Powercab + with the Helix for amps and effects and it's Killer..... With or without -predetermined configurations/snap shots!! your guitar playing is awesome : )
After watching your first Helix video it piqued my interest as to the sheer quality of these contraptions because I've always been an amp bloke and thought I always would be, but....... Now I'm not lucky enough to be able to drop a couple of grand on a full Helix kit, but I discovered this thing called an HX Stomp, which apparently has identical guts, sounds, effects, amp models etc to a full Helix, but with limited features and functionality. When I saw the price point was £400, I decided to go for one. I've only had it a few days and am still finding my way around it, but already it has made a couple of my effects pedals redundant and I decided to sell those on and claw back £100 of my Stomp's outlay, maybe as I become more proficient with it I can sell even more of my pedals and virtually get my money back completely. As I said, I've always been an amp guy and a "purist" but I'm willing to move with the times, so at the moment I own a Laney Lionheart and a Marshall Origin 20 and if I can emulate exactly the tones I get out of those with my Stomp, then I'll sell my amps too, because as I suffer with a disability due too a spinal cord injury which is degenerating with time, lugging my amps around is increasingly difficult and I'm housebound for a lot of my days. I decided to buy the HX Stomp after watching your video because you weren't pushing it or trying to flog it the same way that Andertons or other channels would, and I felt that you gave the Helix an honest appraisal. So thanks mate, you may have made my life a lot easier because for me, playing my music when I can is about the only escape and relief from my condition. 👍
