Hey Calvin. I only stayed there one night but I really enjoyed it. Ranger recommended a spot for me and it had a small path that took you right to the lake. Got a beautiful sunset. I was the only person within a couple hundred yards.
According to TPW - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dammed the Brazos River in 1951, creating Lake Whitney. The lake covers 237 square miles with over 225 miles of shoreline. Really cool video Calvin! My aunt had a family reunion there at the same time there was a tornado! I wasn't there but could only imagine how scary that was! Those screened shelters look really awesome! I'll take the one on that hill! Great view and I bet great sunrises and sunsets from there! Thanks for showing us this really cool State Park! Good evening! Really pretty area. Those are nice shelters. Wow lots of water, very nice! Everything around here is practically dry. A lot of the state parks are gearing up to close for a handful of days for hunting. Lost Maples had it listed for early January I think. Sure looks like a big park.
