So so so glad you enjoyed it!! These girls are so special. They’re constantly pushing the boundaries of kpop and genre mixing. They keep it fresh, fun and unique. They have my heart.

Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉
"Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy, which is about the destruction of the environment by humanity. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell. It has been named "Celly" and is adorable!
My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us. It could also be the other way round (them singing as mother nature to humanity).
SuA jumping out after the dove seem to represent their desire for peace.
The story of the MV seems to be that the rest of humanity has sheltered away under force fields after the apocalypse. This gives nature time to heal.
Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius. And as a bass player, I can say the slap bass is crazy!
I probably won't have to tell anyone that the visuals here are out of this world. I'm going to say it anyways: The members have never looked more beautiful, and the whole team all deserve a raise!

Dreamcatcher are unique in Kpop which is why it took years for them to make an impression on Korean music fans while, in the meantime, they were enthusiastically embraced by international music fans. Rock is not a popular music genre in Korea and the group was often told they were crazy to go that way. They stuck with it though and are now reaping the rewards. Music tastes are changing in Korea with the younger generation and new groups with edgier concepts are appearing. Dreamcatcher blaised the trail for those 4th gen groups. Ollounder is their lead composer/lyricist and he's the guy who does the drums.

Thanks for checking out Dreamcatcher! "BONVOYAGE" is closer to their older title tracks but I'd say their older sound is a bit heavier - it doesn't have as many softer or slower points like this song and is very much like, yes, an anime opening whereas more recent songs started delving more into electronic-rock style. The b-sides on their albums are all very different though and range from a wide variety of sounds from ballads to jazzy to funk. They also have a few Japanese singles that are definitely much heavier than this as well.
The CEO of the company used to spend a lot of time in Japan and became a big fan of the music there. He opened a store in Korea where he would sell imported J-Rock CDs and merch and eventually started to book shows for J-Rock acts to perform in Korea. This is how he got the money to start a k-pop company, Happyface Entertainment. They announced a group of five girls called "Minx" in 2014, which followed a very cutesy concept that was standard for k-pop at the time, but they never garnered much attention. Instead of disbanding the group though, as he felt it was entirely his fault, he decided to add two new members and redebut them as a new group. They debuted as Dreamcatcher with the song "Chase Me," a song very obviously inspired by J-Rock music, January 13th, 2017. Although Korean fans didn't jive with the rock sound as much, the group gained some popularity internationally and started to grow to the point that the company changed its name to "Dreamcatcher Company" sometime in 2020.
This song is their first comeback since the announcement in December 2022 that all seven members jointly renewed their contracts with the company before their current ones were even expired. All seven members said they love the kind of music they make with the rock sound (some said they'd like to go even harder and more metal with it), and all appreciate the message of the music they put out as there's usually some meaning about it (ex. the trilogy of songs "BONVOYAGE" is part of is the Apocalypse series, about trying to protect the planet from the damage we're doing to it, and the one before this was called the Dystopia series and was about how bullying and harassment affects people).

Finding Dreamcatcher is really finding a hidden gem full of talent! I'm Metal Head myself, and kpop is a refreshment for me, especially with heavy kpop like DC, and literally I just listen DC when it comes to kpop
You'll find some catchy riff, guitar lead in most of DC songs, and when you notice that, it's like dang they're really intentionally putting metal sounds haha

So you've known some aspects of kpop, and even among them, Dreamcatcher is very unique since all of their title tracks (and some B-sides) incorporates rock and/or metal elements, infused with traditional pop, orchestra, even EDM. Even in Korea, Dreamcatcher is not so popular compared to other groups They do gain more recognition lately and their fanbase is growing in the last few years, but their fanbase is outside South Korea is huge.
Their earlier releases especially the debut has even more rock elements, and also has more dark mysterious vibe that goes along really well with their group concept (as you've read in their wiki).
Thank you for checking them out and happy that it suits your taste more. I hope you'll check more of their music :)

    dreamcatcher \:D/
check out more of their songs. they got a diverse discography and an interesting way of mixing genres. all their title tracks infuse rock/metal elements to some degree and rarely do they reuse genres/sounds previously used in their past songs. bon voyage is the final part of their apocalypse trilogy which sines light on mankind's destructive nature. part 1 is maison and part 2 is vision, both of which offer glimpses of the world if humanity doesn't alter course. here in bon voyage, the tone is more hopeful.

Thanks for checking out Dreamcatcher! They have heavier/more rock-infused tracks that I think you'll enjoy. I'll just list a few of the "standalone" ones (that aren't part of a storyline).
"Reason" (song for their fans which are called "InSomnia")
    "Endless Night"
    "No More"
    "Don't Light My Fire"
    "My Way"
    "Mayday"
    "Tension"
There are so many others, but as someone who loves rock, I think Dreamcatcher is such a breath of fresh air in the kpop industry so these are just a few to get started. :) I'm sure other commenters will have suggestions too! :)

I believe 'K-pop' is more of an umbrella term for big chunk of the Korean music industry, as opposed to what we'd consider the equivalent to western pop. It's not any one particular genre nor is it exclusive to a genre, especially with genre blending (which Dreamcatcher does a lot of).
Their Japanese tracks go even harder, more on the rock/metal side
    - Breaking Out (has music video)
    - Endless Night (has music video)
    - No More
    - Don't light my fire

Good to see you instantly fall with their packages, whether for the song, the vocals, the production, and the beauties...
As Dreamcatcher is the only group in KPop industry that continuously fuse some rock/metal elements in their title tracks, and blend it with other genres, but remember that they are still a pop group...
So if you are in for their rock/metal sounds and make a standard based on that, I'm sorry to tell you that you might be get a little dissapointed...
Please lower the expectation of the rock/metal, and see them in a pov of a pop group that super creatives in the mixing of rock/metal with other genres...
With those in mind, I believe that you might be easier to recognized their awesomeness...
    Why I said this?
Cause I'd seen a lot of reactors that in their first time hearing Dreamcatcher, they feel like Dreamcatcher is a Korean Babymetal or Bandmaid, and regret it when they found out that Dreamcatcher is NOT a metal band...
The more irony was that they instantly forgetting Dreamcatcher and not trying to analyze what is the strenght of Dreamcatcher...
And my opinion about them, after becoming an InSomnia myself, that they are one of the best music genres blending in the world!
Not just for rock/metal elements, but when you hear their B-sides, there are more shocking productions in the mix of reggae, jazz, moombahton, edm, city pop, and more...
So I really encourage you to dig deeper in their discography, and I'm sure you'll know what I mean...
Stay safe, keep healthy, and have great days

Welcome to the Dreamworld! Thanks for giving Dreamcatcher the opportunity! They're a special group, for sure. Their rock influences vary from song to song and they cover a lot of other genres in their b-sides. If I were to suggest anything, it would probably be "BEcause" (2021) and "Vision" (2022). "BEcause" is a fairly balanced blend of k-pop styles and rock elements. It also goes back to their horror roots which is always a fun time. "Vision" is part two of their "Apocalypse" trilogy, "Bonvoyage" being part three. "Vision" is more rock driven. It's one of my personal favorite title tracks. Hope to see some more from you! Threw you a sub and a like!

I agreed that this does sound poppy cause that was intentional. If you want more of the rock side you should watch their older songs. Maybe you can start your way up to the latest release. Thank you for your reaction! 💗☺️
Dreamcatcher (DC/Deukae) is an unique 7 member girl group. They're a K-pop group known to incorporate pop & other genres and blending with rock/metal/synth instrumentals within *ALL* their *TITLE TRACKS*.
Thus creating an unique signature blend of genre known only to Dreamcatcher.
They're also known as the Concept Queens and having Powerful live performances, usually with dark/horror/creepy concept themes MVs. Their title tracks MVs have always been story based, connecting one song to another. **This is only for their TITLE TRACKS.**
They've had concerts and live performances with live bands, which, to me, has the best versions, which many InSomnias can agree that.
On a flipside, their B-SIDES hold a *HUGE* variety of genres and experimental fusion creativity. It's like a different world of Dreamcatcher. Ballads, EDM, jazz, funk, reggae, hard metal/rock, just to name some. Their B-side tracks is where they flex their vocals & versatility which seems infinite, as they continue to surprise us everytime they comeback with new songs.
The members also showed their creativity by taking part and getting credited for the composing, writing, choreographies for some of their songs too. They have also done numerous vocal/dance covers, adding their own twist to the songs, making it their own. And all 7 of them wrote, composed and produced their own solo songs & included them in the Apocalypse:Save Us full Album.

    There are currently 3 storylines:
Note* Storylines are for their title tracks only:
    *NIGHTMARE* Series
    - DC are cursed by a spider who was killed by one of them & became 7 Nightmares personifications, after which they try to escape (knowing the Dreamcatcher lore as a start would be good)
    *DYSTOPIA* Trilogy
    - About social/online bullying/toxicity...DC are guardian spirits of The Tree of Language who were awoken by the world's social/online toxicity, by which they retaliate and seek to achieve Utopia.
    *Apocalypse* Trilogy
    - The end of times with Chaos & Carnage in the Dusk. It contains the message of Dreamcatcher, who dreams of taking a leap forward in a better direction for everyone in a dizzying world.
Note** Feel free to conclude your own theories, as the storylines have many interpretations from the fandom.
I've listed their main title/single tracks released chronologically from debut to help you:
    NIGHTMARE SERIES :
    -Chase Me (Debut) (2017)
-Goodnight (immediate continuation from Chase Me)
-Fly high (Prequel to Chase Me)
-You & I (strong connection from Fly High)
-What (Still trapped in the Nightmare in a different setting)
-Piri (it's a flute which JiU used to warn the rest about the danger they're in) (2019)
DYSTOPIA TRILOGY: (take note of the Tree, which reflects the mood for each MV)
    -Scream (2020)
(They're spirits of the Tree of Language. Awakened from their sleep due to overwhelming spread of the world's words/actions toxicity)
    -Boca ('Mouth' in Spanish)
(Set out into the world to stop those social toxicity which results in depression/death to the affected ones)
    -Odd Eye (2021)
(Trying to find Utopia within the world's social/online toxicity, but ended up getting themselves corrupted)
**Only for Scream & Boca, 1 member, Handong, wasn't with them as she was in China, participating a show, Youth With You, and various schedules. Supposed to comeback for Boca but was stuck there due to the Pandemic.
    COLLABORATION WITH MOBILE GAME COMPANIES:

-R.o.S.E Blue (Game: Girl Gun Cafe)
    ANNIVERSARY SINGLES dedicated to InSomnias:
    -Full Moon
    -Over The Sky
    -Reason
JAPANESE RELEASES that have MVs, (heavier rock/metal influence) :
-Breaking out (alternate/actual ending to Nightmare series)
    -Endless Night
    -No More
-Eclipse (King's Raid anime 2nd Opening OST)
    Summer Holiday Special EP:
    -BEcause (About Obsessive love)
    Apocalypse Trilogy:
    -Maison (2022)
(Warning the ones responsible in changing the climate and destroying the planet to stop doing it and do something to improve the situation)
-Vision (Onward marching into battle, showing the world a vision of what's to come)
-Bon Voyage (In my perspective, it's like a love letter to mother nature to take a rest after Apocalypse happened, like about nature's separation from humankind)

The core of Dreamcatcher's sound is J-Rock (thus the "Anime sound"). They're heavily influenced by it. Also, NuMetal seems to be their thing in many songs. But the genious blending of many genres of music is their strong point, as it comes out really good. You should also listen to the amazing Propose, and Demian from the same album. They're much heavier songs, with incredible vocals, which is their strong point.
Also their Japanese songs, Eclipse, Endless Night, Don't Light My Fire and some of their Korean songs like Sahara, Goodnight and Break The Wall are really amazing Pop-Metal songs. The dancing thing isn't new. Babymetal broke the mold first and Dreamcatcher continue on this path, since they're 7 talented singer-dancers and it suits them well.

Thanks for the reaction dude, this is actually kpop as u asked in the video, but its more rock than pop sound for their music, like u will always hear a guitar, drum or some classical instrument in their songs, unlike other kpop groups whom doing mostly EDM, pop , hip-hop and because of that this group is barely started to grow as group in the kpop industry, because of their unconvaniant approach to the kpop music market, i hope u liked them not all of their songs are heavy rock like this one but the message they trying to give with thier msuic is really important to us.

Thank you for the Dreamcatcher reaction. The sound you wanted from Dreamcatcher can be heard in Endless Night. However, I recommend Dreamcatcher's dystopia series (Scream, Boca, Odd eye) to you. This series will give you more Dreamcatcher's unique sound.

Check out the EP (Apocalypse: From Us), it has two other harder tracks while the full album is rock infused. At least look for: Demian Color coded and Propose Color Coded.

Might I recommend their sisters in rock call Rolling Quartz. That's a proper rock band.
This the end of trilogy. Maison about fighting for the earth. Vision was the battle. Bon Voyage was saying goodbye to earth after devastation so the earth may recover.

You should watch some of their concert performance especially when rhe sing bsides with live band. Some of their bsides are just stright rock or metal. But there are also other genres. Their concert live babd always satisfying to watch.
Their japanese songs are just too rock you would like it, endless night and no more, don't light my fire.

Fun fact! This is one of the least rock tracks of Dreamcatcher. The majority of their older tracks are harder and their japanese releases are borderline metal.
