Great video, as an Australian I'm very proud of the history, consistent quality and design innovation from both the Perth Mint and the Royal Australian Mint. My hometown is just a 90 minute drive south of Perth and I've had the opportunity to tour the Perth Mint and watch a gold pouring demonstration there. Best wishes from downunder. 🇦🇺😊

The Australian coins are so nice and they’re usually barely more expensive than generic rounds. No brainer.
The Kangas seem to be the best value silver coins. I picked up a Aus 5oz Year of the Dragon Silver coin for a good deal. They way it sits in the palm of your hand and the shimmer it glows to your eyes. Priceless.
I'm sure it is absolutely beautiful and 5oz in the hand is great. Yeah, the Roo's and Phil's are usually the cheapest. I just prefer the Roos and the 41mm diameter over the thicker but less wide 37mm Philharmonics.

I mainly stack the PM Kangaroo as I live here in Australia. Able to buy direct from the Mint. They are very well priced, and of course are 9999 fine silver. Can't go wrong IMO.
You can't go wrong with affordable silver straight from the source! I wish we could buy American Silver Eagles directly from our mint. That's a nice perk. Please note when I say "affordable" the premiums are still high. With the price of everything going up however they feel on-par with fuel and food these days sadly! Similar situation for me when it comes to the American Silver Eagles and Maples, I'd love to stack them but the premiums on both are way high here in Australia. As of today, the Kangaroo's are around $34 each, Maples are $40 each, and the Eagles (if you can find them) are approx. $54 each 😩 AUD prices.

Trivia point: Kangaroos tubes take 25.
Yes, I put them in generic tubes of 20 however due to clearance in my safe. The Roo's, Britannia's, Libertads, Maples and more come in 25 but I break them down in other tubes for that reason.

I don't care who's effigy is on it. As long as it's silver (some pre 65, some ase's, and a few lady justice.) More important is the sound they make when I lightly strike them and that I strike each and every one. If you don't hold it then you don't own it.

Great question. As most of the coins I buy are considered bullion - or - investment silver I do not think a "book" so to speak exists. There may be a Silver Kangaroo Book, however. The coin is still pretty new - I think 2016 was the first year but I'll look into it and see if something exists.
Do you have any Coins from the Royal Australian Mint ?
The Kangaroos are my new go to Government Silver Bullion coins, especially since the premiums on American Silver Eagle's are ridiculous.
They haven't gone up in premium like the Britannia and are the better choice in my opinion over the philharmonic.
@@floridastacker philharmonic's are the only Government issue Silver Bullion coins that I don't like.
Maybe it's the smooth rim.
Kangaroos, Krugerrands, Maple Leaf, are a Great alternative to the American Silver Eagle.
Scottsdale Mint usually has a special on Government issued Silver coins. Those specials are only available if purchased by the tube.
Gainesville coins usually have the cheapest Buffalo Silver Rounds. Average $2.50 over spot.
Aussie coins are the core of my stack with over 500 Toz in Kookaburras (15 complete sets). They are a great producer of some stunning coinage.
However their generic offering through the Perth mint Kangaroo and Koala don't get me that excited. I'll take them of course but.. meh. The Royal Australian mint kangaroos are a bit more interesting though.
Yes, the quality of the Roo and Koala is not on par with the other Perth Mint coins. I really just look at the Kangaroo as a bullion with zero collectability. In the USA now the Roo and the Philharmonic remain cheapest of the coins to buy.
Premiums are keeping me pinned… I keep watching value drop but premiums never seem to budge 😩
Not sure they will given the cost of everything that has to move has gone way up. It may be some time or perhaps never that we see those $2 per ounce premiums on Eagles and spot price deals on Generic and 90%

Originally started stacking the maples then premiums got too high. Then the britannias and then premiums got too high. Now just generic. The premiums are out of control flat out. Especially when you consider what your sale back spread is likely to be. And I look for sales but even the sales are high premiums wrapped in a lesser disguise
True. I look at it like this. I'm paying 50 - 150% more for Fuel. 30% + for Food. Much, much more for basic services. At least with Silver I have something valuable that doesn't go "poof" with the push of a button. There are cons...but many pros. The generics are good if you like them. Especially when the spread is in your favor.

They need more Australian animal designs, they are missing out on so many that are great to look at but are also many endangered species because cats get such a free pass in our country. It's sad how many indigenous fauna they have eradicated this far. Need a greater amount of indicative animals immortalised in coin form, not just the poster types.

@@floridastacker yeah they are, but also the pet cats that are let out in the evenings, they hunt local birds nests and also add to the feral cat population. Our outback is a lot more emptier than it should be.

None are in circulation as legal tender. Only as investment grade bullion coins or modern collectible silver coins.
