Hi Brendan. I felt as if I had let myself down. I had planned in advance for the Assessment but unfortunately I don't think that I had excelled in a way that I should of. The assessment was on the 19th so yet to recieve my results. I have looked at previous applicants who felt the same way,as me but had surprisingly passed, so all hope is not lost. Thanks
Barry what type of questions did they ask you in competency interview ? i believe i have what it takes too be a successful police officer however i am only 20 years old, i do not have a lot of answers for a lot of competency questions as i have not been involved in a job very long or been involved in many situations, only 2 very dangerous situations where i handled it very well so i need too prepare a response for a particular question rather than thinking of my answer for minutes
@@thedarkriddler7318 hi connor it's great to hear from you. When it comes to the interview stage, there is 20 minutes to answer 4 questions, so 5min each. The 2 core competencies that I got asked was VALUES and DIVERSITY. They will ask you, what these mean and how would you incorporate these into your job role. If however you don't say enough, the examiner will say that you still have time before the 5min is up. The other 2 questions were about situations that you have been involved in. How did you deal with the incident, and what actions did you take. When you speak about this, ALWAYS say that I done this, not WE,as they want to know what you done specifically. I understand that you're only 20,and I'm 44 now, so feel free to contact me further.
Barry Smith thank you so much for getting back too me so fast, tomorrow is my assessment and I don’t crumble under pressure however I am worried about giving a poor response, having a good idea of what I may be asked is really helpful so it’s not all by surprise now that may not be a question but it is definitely worth learning a response and they supposedly don’t change much. I think I could handle the role play well but do you remember what the role plays was ? I have been watching brendans videos for ran appropriate response an dealing with the situation but it doesn’t go much into significant details only partially as that’s where you need too pay
@@thedarkriddler7318 it's difficult to pinpoint a scenario but they are very different from one to the next one. Do you know exactly what to expect and do when it comes to the role playing.
Hello Brendan I'm Barry from rugby in Warwickshire. I've been selected for the Assessment on Friday the 19th of July at the Thames valley police HQ training centre. Could you please possibly tell me how difficult the assessment is to pass. I keep getting different mixed messages, so not exactly sure what to do about it
Hi, I'm going to assessment center on the 9th of August. Its my first time applying, could you give me any tips about it or tell me what I could expect. Best regards Michal.

Not at the moment. If I do get the unfortunate news, I am very determined to pass it in 6months
