5:30 Kangaroo Island is the oldest bee sanctuary in the world. Ligurian bees were bought to the island from Italy in 1881, and was declared a sanctuary in 1885. I was born on King Island it's situated between Tasmania and Victoria, Western entrance into Bass Strait. Known as the 'graveyard' of Bass Strait because of the shipwrecks. The Island is known for their wonderful food products, beef, lamb, cheese, seafood, wild peacocks and turkeys. Have visited Christmas Island twice for work.
Here's some additional fun facts: - Tasmania was originally named Van Diemen's Land by Europeans - Heard Island is the only actively erupting volcano in Australia. Big Ben, the volcano, has erupted a few times in the last century. - Christmas Island was notorious in the 90's and 2000's for being the home of a detention centre for asylum seekers who would try to reach Australia illegally from Indonesia. - Frasier Island (or K'gari, its Indigenous name that it is now referred to by) is just one giant sand bar. The island plus many others in the region are the only place in the world rainforests grow on sand. - Kangaroo Island has a population of koalas which were introduced by British settlers - Before British settlement, Cockatoo Island (known as Wareamah by local Aboriginal nations) was a sacred meeting place for all the local peoples. - The reason why Norfolk Island have their own language is most of the islanders are descendants of mutineers of the Bounty & the Tahitian people they took with them to Pitcairn Island. Some of their descendants left Pitcairn and moved to Norfolk Island in 1856. - The Norfolk Island pine is native to only this island. Also the wreck of the HMS Sirius, one of the First Fleet ships that brought the original wave of British migrants to Australa in 1788, rests on the sea bed on the island's south coast.
😏 Tasmania was first located and claimed by Holland, and was named in 1642 by the Dutch explorer Abel Tasman for the Governer-General of the East India Company, his boss, Anthony Van Dieman! French explorers were also present in Tasmania around this time, many places are still named for them! England was not the first in Tasmania! I do not believe those Aboriginal "sacred land" claims, NO lands actually ever "belonged" to these nomadic tribes!

Kangaroo Islander here. From generations of farming family. Have lived with kangaroos in the yard around the house. They are beautiful, as are all KI’s native wildlife. The Ligurian bees make the best honey and originally came from Italy. Lots of unique flora and fauna and the best beaches, rock formations, and so much more. A must visit.
Of course Aussies know about these islands my wife and I have vacationed on both Kangaroo and Norfolk Islands and both are incredible places. With typical Aussie humour we refer to Norfolk Island as the place of the newly weds or the nearly deads (retirees). A lot of the locals on Norfolk are descendants of the Mutiny on the Bounty they have their own unique language and culture,. Kangaroo Island is also an amazing place unfortunately when we were there it had been decimated by bush fires and was still recovering but was still beautiful.,
I actually live on Kangaroo Island currently and it is stellar. It houses some amazing coastline and some stunning natural wonders. Pretty dark fact, but Kangaroo Island was subject to a massive bushfire at the beginning of 2020 that burned out around 40% of the island from the western end towards the east. It was truely a stressful time here and the bounceback has been phenominal.
That shot of the kangaroos on the beach at Kangaroo Island is actually a shot from Lucky Bay, near Esperance in the south east of WA, a bloody long way from SA. I know because I used to live there and have a number of personal photos that I took on that very beach. And yes, the colour of the sand and the water there has not been enhanced.
Sydney's Cockatoo Island has the only urban campsites in the world. Catch the ferry with you camp gear and pitch your tent...at water level. Enjoy the lights and sounds of the harbour at night with the Harbour Bridge in the background. Very cool experience.
The Mutiny on the Bounty involved Captain Bligh (later NSW Governor Bligh) & Fletcher Christian. The mutineers stayed in Tahiti, then sailed west to Pitcairn Island with several Tahitians including women. The mixed Brit-Tahitian descendants on Pitcairn were later all relocated to Norfolk Island, which already had Polynesian indigenous people.
Been to Kangaroo Island. Didn't aactually relise the magnitude of it until you drive across it. I think generally accomodation is on the East Side (Especially Kingscote and Penneshaw - which at different times have been the landing points for the ferry from Cape Jervis), but I'm sure there's patches of it elsewhere. In modern times KI is relatively famous (other than honey) for Wine and Marron (think of a yabby that lives in clear water rather than muddy water). I vaguely remember being told that Marron isn't native to KI, but someone imported it to farm and didn't realise it would get out and spread across the island. I also remember one visit was by plane rather than ferry. A small plane, maybe 20 people (maybe even less), and when we landed the locals commented "Oh, you're lucky they gave you the big plane" (from memory I found out later there was a series of flights that leave roughly together - some cessna (or similar) carrying 4 or 5 people followed by the bigger one) Well worth the visit.
Yes Marron originally came from WA. It’s considered a pest on KI and it’s only allowed because of its isolation from the mainland as it can take over creeks and rivers etc. My father farmed it on KI and sold to local restaurants. I’m one who used to travel back and forth to the Island by tiny planes - where they’d literally clear sheep from the dirt runways, and we’d go to all the airports before ours, continually landing to let someone off and then taking off again. Fun times.
Being from South Australia have been to Kangaroo Island many times. Recently voted in the top twenty holiday destinations in the world. Lots of fascinating landscapes and beaches. Wineries, breweries , distillery .
I’ve been to beautiful Kangaroo Island several times. I don’t think this video showed one true photo of the island! It is ruggedly beautiful full of koalas echidnas wombats sea lions and yes a few kangaroos! Amazing coastal scenery at the far end of the island with Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch. It is truly a unique experience to visit KI.
I agree about the footage of KI. The Rocks and the Arch are probably the most photographed sites, and found on all the postcards. Heck, even a glimpse of Seal Bay, one of the lighthouses, or a blue fairy wren would have been nice (and authentic) to see.
If you can, please visit Norfolk Island. It is, for me at least, the most stunning island in the whole world. Australia is very particular in preserving the island ecosystem so you will enjoy the most nature can offer on each island.
In the 80s I had a holiday job on Orpheus Island (similar to Lizard Island but further south). Was a teen from a financially modest background. Had never seen so many wealthy ppl all in one place 😅 Most were very nice, which I hadn't expected 😊 My favourite island is North Stradbroke Island, 45 min by ferry from Brisbane. The Pacific Ocean side is absolutely stunning 😍 Scatter my ashes there when I croak it!
I have been to Kangaroo island (i live in Adelaide).. absolutely stunning, so much to see and do. Another not well known fact about the island is... that if a Koala is removed from the island it cant be retured ever as the Koala's on the mainland suffer from chlamydia and the Koalas on the island are free from the disease so once they leave they cant come back in fear of spreading the disease on the island.
Three of the islands off the coast of Perth. They are Rottnest Island (home of the quokka), Seal Rock (seal breeding area) and Carnac Island (nicknamed Snake Island because no humans live there, only several deadly species of snake. No one can visit except for researchers)
When I was a kid we spent a couple of weeks every summer at Phillip Island, which is about an hour and a half drive from Melbourne. It has some beautiful beaches (both surf and bay beaches), interesting fauna, including fairy penguins, and is the home of the motor cycle grand prix (which has just occurred last weekend).
Kangaroo Island was devastated by the terrible fires of 2019 - 2020 when 211,474 hectares of land was burnt along with much of the wildlife which was killed, including 41,000 koalas and 32,000 farm animals. (Fraser Island), K'gari, I have been there myself. It is a magical island, with outstanding rain forest, crystal clear streams and beautiful sandy beaches. Fraser is on the World Heritage List and the purest dingoes in Australia who live there, are protected. Norfolk Island is visited by many Australians each year, it is mainly known as a tourist destination
41 thousand koalas? Lol, wouldn’t be 41 thousand koalas in Australia 20 years ago. The government are the ones lighting the fires for political points 🇺🇳wake up on the corruption. Climate change or geoengieering and self inflicted falls flags
Willis Island does indeed sit of the coast from my city off Cairns - as well as many other beautiful islands in tropical North Queensland ❤ Australia 🇦🇺💯
Gidday mate, you need to check out North Stradbroke island (Straddy) which lies off Brisbane. It's stunningly beautiful, particularly the area around Point Lookout as well as Blue Lake and Brown Lake. Also Moreton Island which lies immediately north of Straddy.
We holidayed on Kangaroo Island ~KARTA PINTINGGA last year . We thought being South Aussies it would be safe to book in as we could still go even if locked down by the virus. I have no idea why we hadn’t visited earlier . 10 days in beauty, in rugged coastline and regenerative flora after the fire . Many many wildflowers and of course Roos
Norfolk Island is very unique, they do have their own language, sing God Save the Queen, meaning Queen Victoria, and dislike being Australians! The small population possibly means some interbreeding issues! They purport to be descendants of the Bounty Mutineers and their Tahitian born girlfriends/wives and they stick closely to over a century old traditions! It is worth a visit though! 😁
There's Rottnest Island, near WA. It's known for the quokka- a cute little animal that loves getting photos taken with tourists. Another is also Phillip Island, Victoria. It's known for its penguins. They also didn't mention Magnetic Island or Hamilton Island in far north QLD. They're very popular tourist destinations. Near Brisbane alone there's a heap of islands- Bribie Island has a bridge so you can drive there. There's also Stradbroke Island, Maclay Island, Coochemudlo Island (probably not spelled right), Russell Island, Moreton Island.
@@nathanielpillar8012 granted there is farmland, but a lot of the island is protected. It is still an island of natural beauty, pristine beaches, great wildlife and outstanding features like Remarkable Rocks.
I live on an island off Queensland. It's 8 klms long and 3 klms wide, but I'm moving back to the best Aussie island, Tasmania. I've been to a lot of the islands here and they are really worth visiting. Island life is very different to the mainland and we run on Island time. There are some beautiful islands around Tassie too.
I’ve been to Fraser Island 3 times. It’s a great place to enjoy the beautiful environment & do some 4x4 driving along the tracks & beaches. You can camp or stay in accommodation. We go every few years & have a ball✌🏼
We lived on a yacht for 6 years and sailed the Australian east coast. Fraser Island, Stradbroke Island, Magnetic Island and so many more are just stunningly beautiful. And then there's the island off of the South Australian coast, the major one of which is Kangaroo Island... just love it.
I used to live on Christmas Island in the 90's building the casino that failed very quickly, now the accommodation houses the detention centre staff ! Absolutely beautiful place to live!
Abrolhos Islands off the coast of Geraldton, Western Australia are another set of Islands with tour boats and flights going out to them. My son went out a few years ago and he said it was amazing. Seals met them as they came ashore to plant mangrove trees. Crystal clear water and great for fishing and snorkelling or just taking in the unique landscape.
I live on Phillip Island, just off the Victorian coast. Very much a summer destination. Many towns have same names as the Isle of Wight. Phillip island is mainly known for Fairy penguins and a Moto GP race in October. The main town is Cowes, normal m population is around 6000 but grows to 25000 in December & January. It also has some of the very few north facing beaches in Australia. It is a wonderful place to live & visit.
❤ Philip island at the bottom of Victoria ,its home to the little blue penguins, a great chocolate factory also a winery. Best thing its gotta cool bridge so just drive there.
He failed to mention Moreton Island in Queensland. Moreton Island is famous for its sandboarding and is home to Mt. Tempest, the highest coastal sand dune in the world (285 m or 932 ft.). I live in Redcliffe, just across the Moreton Bay from the island. If I walk to the end of my street, I can see Moreton Island and the sand dunes. They call it sandboarding now, but when I was a kid and we'd go over to Moreton for a camping trip, we'd grab a huge piece of cardboard, climb to the top of the nearest dune, and toboggined (as we called it in those days) down to the beach. Sometimes you'd come down so fast you'd almost make it to the surf!! Glory days!!
I live close to Fraser Island, although its name is now officially changed to K'gari, the Aboriginal name. It is the most glorious place, and huge. Tourists go there in the thousands. Kangaroo Island was devastated by the fires of a couple of years ago and so much wildlife perished. It's all common knowledge here about our territories and closer islands. King Island near Tasmania is famous for its dairy products, mostly cheeses. Lots of small inhabited islands around Bisbane, with Bribie Island one of the beautiful ones.
Lord Howe Island had my wife's Uncle working on the island and Aunty, as their only nurse or medical personnel, for several years before they moved on. They loved every minute. We travelled by resupply barge there, crazy journey.
Fun fact: There are in fact 2 Christmas Islands in the world. 1 is in the video & the other is between Samoa & Hawaii in the Kiribati Island chain. Probably a few of the best Islands are: Lady Elliott Island (absolutely stunning island), Lord Howe Island (the island I want to go to the most) & in it's heydays Great Keppel Island or Wop-Pa in local Aboriginal language (the saying was "I got wrecked on Keppel" was a party island, now not so.) & finally way on/off the north west coast are the Cocos (Keeling) Islands comprised of 2 coral atolls & 27 islands (my retirement destination).
I grew up on K.I. (as Kangaroo Island is generally known) and lived there for over 30 years. It’s absolutely gorgeous, has an abundance of native wildlife & awesome sights… a fantastic holiday destination if you ever get the chance. It’s majorly agriculture & tourism based but it mostly just feels like a few small country towns that happen to be on the most stunning and serene little island paradise. Can’t recommend it enough. There are a heap of great videos on YT about the Island, it’s for sure worth a closer look!🐝🦘🦭🦈🐬🦎
I'm pretty certain that the photo of the kangaroos on the beach on Kangaroo Island was actually taken at Lucky Bay in Cape Le Grande National Park near Esperance in Western Australia. The Recherche Islands are just off the coast there, and there are 105 islands in that group. Probably the most spectacular island there is Middle Island which contains the vivid pink Lake Hillier.
i live in port stephens there is a bunch of islands broughton island, little broughton, boondelbah, cabbage tree, little, shark (fingal), snapper, bull, boandabah, dowadee, bushy, pelican, shag, one tree, garden, correhbah, swan, joas, black, orilbah, stuarts, mud, uptons
I've not been to any of them, however know of most of them and yeah there are a lot more I know of. There are 3 islands I can think of just off the coast where I live in Perth. Penguin Island, Garden Island which is a military base and Rottnest Island. We also have heaps of estuary islands as well In Mandurah like Brunswick island.
We all know about Norfolk Island. It was an infamous prison settlement. Fun fact many of the residents are descendants of The Bounty mutineers, definitely worth a dive into the history of Norfolk Island
What gets me with TH-cam channels about Australia that aren't actually Aussie's themselves still don't understand that Tassie is actually one of our six states. It's like they think it's just some island hanging off the bottom of Straya's mainland, the state of Victoria infact is seperated by Bass Strait from Tassie. Why foreign TH-camrs don't do proper research on the vids they make is stupid enough but it's even worse when they make vids about foreign nations to them & do diddly squat research at all. Tassie or the Apple Isle as we call it is always the the brunt of all our mainland jokes but seriously it's an absolutely gorgeous state. It's a state where on Chrissy Day, which is our summer, has had snow fall on Mt Wellington whilst a bushfires can be flaring up not to far away. I remember watching a TH-cam channel of two American women watching a vid of Tassie & during the vid they heard about the jokes we have with the island state, including the two-headed jokes when these women stopped the vid to give Aussie's a lecture on the jokes towards Tasmanians & they weren't joking. They were telling us that they don't find those jokes amusing, that it was appalling, disgusting & extremely rude, nasty & disrespectful & we Aussie's need to stop bullying our Tasmanians & stop the name calling & harrassment. It was like who the f**k are u two Septic Tanks thinking u have the right to lecture us on what we can & can't say & what we can & can't joke about. That's the probs with Seppo's, they actually do lecture the world on how to live while their own country is an absolute pig sty with a Prezzo that doesn't even know how to take two steps with falling. It just shows the difference in the two countries. We have a sense of humour, we don't get arsehurt, we are a laid back culture, we continually take the piss outta each other, we aren't uptight & we don't find everything offensive unlike the US who'd sue somebody just for breathing near them. Don't ever, ever, ever, as a foreigner tell us what we can & can't do, that is the exact reason why the world, including it's allies hate America & the American public or the Seppo's.
Do you know that the shortest land border between two Australian states is 85 metres, and Victoria has a West, North, East and South border with both NSW and South Australia?
In the 80s we learnt about all the native languages on our islands at primary school . We didnt learn to speak them though. We had a couple of stidents in our classes from Norfolk island.
Surprised Rottnest Island in WA was not mentioned, only place you can find a Quokka smiling with a celeb like Chris Hemsworth and Matt Damon in a selfie.
It's generally widely accepted that both Norfolk Island and Lord Howe Island in the Pacific of the East Coast of Australia are two of the most beautifully stunning and picturesque islands that we own. Australians do frequently go to either islands for holidays, being widely used for such purposes as sporting events, such as Ironman. The waters surrounding the islands have some of the clearest water in the world and the Diving is world renown. The populations are strictly controlled so that violence is reduced to an absolute minimum. Murders don't tend to happen on these islands, as there is nowhere to get away. Fraser Island, which I've been to, is the big sister to Morton Island, and numerous other small islands east of Brisbane. Fraser has the clearest water freshwater which is both drinkable and you can swim in. It also has some of the longest stretches of beaches in Australia with the East Coast being 95 miles long of uninterrupted beach if you can't find a spot there to put a towel down at work on your suntan, then there's something wrong with you. Here in Sydney, we have two islands off the coast, the first being Wedding Cake island off Coogee Beach, and Shark Island off Cronulla - and no, it's not frequented by sharks. There are numerous of the islands within Sydney Harbour which are also of a historical nature.
My Dad owned 3Farms on French Island. A Once upon a time, French Island Prison . The Prisoners used to break-out and stay in vacant Farms, have a feed after using the rifle under the bed and go back to Gaol at the end of the week, for the Visiting Days, on the weekend. Very funny setup. Yagottalaugh🤣
disappointed he never mentioned Morton Island which tis the first one id suggest to tourists.... worlds biggest sand dunes that u can sand board down, u can stay at tangalooma resort there and hand feed dolphins and u can hire wetsuits etc and snorkel around a man made reef of shipwrecks.... the water tis sooooo clear, the fish are amazing and its just gorgeous.... u can get a catamaran there from brisbane
You have to look up Rottnest Island where our Quokkas live. They are called the happiest animal in the world. No, you cannot have one. Tasmania has some too but you can take a boat trip to visit them on the Island. They are so cute.
i knew a family who moved to melbourne from norfolk island when i was a kid, and they spoke regular english. not sure if they originated there or only lived there for a short time though 🤔
BTW Kangaroo Island is cat free now. Also beautiful beaches. Also , kangaroo meat is like venison, lean, high in protein and very healthy to eat- it's delicious.
Ok 👌 @ 2:50 I had to watch and listen back a few times but I get it now though before I watched it back lad, I didn’t know if you were saying island or “aliens” ....... PS the crabs yes they make you squirm just a little bit 😉🤜🤛😂😂😂😂😂😂
Do a Google search of the unique Norfolk Island language. Tis a wonderful thing to hear particularly when we are losing so many languages around the world
Fraser Island is beautiful and dingoes do attack people. It questions the Lindy Chamberlain "dingo got my baby story." I believe she was innocent. Also seen dingoes in Bali and many Indonesian islands.
Yes mate. We're a weird mob. Besides bog standard English, hundreds of other languages are spoken all over the place. Some, like English, are 'imported'.. some developed in situ.
Investigate Norfolk Island and its history on its own. Fascinating history and will be a surprise for you. Pacific Islanders penal colony diring Australias settlement Mutiny on the Bounty descendants with Tahitian origins and now an Australian territory with fiercely independant residents. Not to mention the scenery.
1901 Interpretations Act section 2B /15B defines Australia, When the word (includes) in a legal sense it excludes anything else (1) Australia , when used in a geographical sense, includes each of the following: (a) Norfolk Island; (b) the Coral Sea Islands Territory; (c) the Territory of Ashmore and Cartier Islands; (d) the Territory of Christmas Island; and no other external landmass
Every time you say island, it sounds like your saying Aliens lol, anyway, Norfolk island i knew about, i am a Tasmanian, but i didn't know about the language part, that was new and interesting to me for sure.

You mean people annoying the shit out of the quokka! I used to live there ! Piss off with your bloody selfie bullshit !
I’ve been to Kangaroo Island a few times.
Magnificent and virtually unspoiled.
Mother Nature at her best
it's covered in farmland. very spoiled actually.
Interesting. I'm a Queenslander also and am moving to Tassie in January. I lived and worked down there 20 years ago. I cannot wait. :)
Not forgetting being a Mecca for morotsport.
@@drbongorama yeah I hadn't forgotten lol
The kangaroos on KI (Kangaroo Island Western Grey Kangaroo - lol) are not found anywhere else.
Been to Lady Elliot and Lady Musgrave islands here in Queensland on a number of occasions for awesome diving adventures.
Norfolk Island is a great place to visit, great places to visit nice people
Fun fact: There are in fact 2 Christmas Islands in the world.
It’s a shame it’s cheaper for us in Adelaide to go interstate or overseas than what it is to holiday on KI. (It’s on my bucket list I swear!)
@@Tidus0pwe found it comparable to our holiday to Ballarat . We took our car and used the ferry .
@@Tidus0p Mine too.
Fraser Island Rocks !!!! I live in Gympie , gateway to Tin Can Bay , Rainbow Beach the only way in.
i live in port stephens there is a bunch of islands broughton island, little broughton, boondelbah, cabbage tree, little, shark (fingal), snapper, bull, boandabah, dowadee, bushy, pelican, shag, one tree, garden, correhbah, swan, joas, black, orilbah, stuarts, mud, uptons
Thank you so much. I have lived here over 50 years and know so little about these islands. Great to be educated about where I live. Cheers, Elizabeth
It was taught in school once. Hayman Isl and Daydream Isl are nice places
My favourite island is Rottnest Island off the coast of Perth. Home of the Quokka!
My sister lived & worked.on Norfolk Island. Strange place but beautiful.
I lived on Cape Barren Island (Aboriginal remote community) for 7 years. Taught music at the primary school. total population 65
Have a look at Rottnest ..popular with celebs for a 'quokka selfie. No cars there so BYO bicycle. 😊
There is a lot of “islands” around Sydney harbour that while still named something island have basically become peninsulas due to development.
In the 80s we learnt about all the native languages on our islands at primary school . We didnt learn to speak them though. We had a couple of stidents in our classes from Norfolk island.
The first explorers and sailors from different countries jumped from small island to island as staging posts, pushing into the unknown.
Surprised Rottnest Island in WA was not mentioned, only place you can find a Quokka smiling with a celeb like Chris Hemsworth and Matt Damon in a selfie.
Saibai Island is an interesting one - it lies just 4km from the coast of Papua New Guinea. And the Australian border lies between it and PNG.
Add Moreton Island and the Tangalooma Resort to your Island list to check out
My Dad owned 3Farms on French Island.
The video forgot about lord howl island which is a very unique island that has a lot of wild life found no where else
You have to look up Rottnest Island where our Quokkas live. They are called the happiest animal in the world. No, you cannot have one. Tasmania has some too but you can take a boat trip to visit them on the Island. They are so cute.
Did not know that Tasmania has Quokkas too 👍❣️
I'm spending Christmas on KI 😃 It's STUNNING!
i knew a family who moved to melbourne from norfolk island when i was a kid, and they spoke regular english. not sure if they originated there or only lived there for a short time though 🤔
BTW Kangaroo Island is cat free now. Also beautiful beaches. Also , kangaroo meat is like venison, lean, high in protein and very healthy to eat- it's delicious.
they missed ROTTNEST ISLAND, home of the quokkas (my avatar), also known as the happiest animal on the planet
Kangaroo Is just got named by Lonely Planet as the 2nd best place in the world to visit (behind Tuscany)
Canada might have more islands but ours are mostly tropical paradises. Im heading to Stradbroke Island this weekend.🏖️
Magnetic island is a great place to see turtles - it is a coral island
There are lots of tiny Islands. Many are small in rivers.
I knew a guy that owned an island. It was massive and sat right in the bay of the town.
Lord Howe Island is absolutely stunning and far more interesting than Norfolk.
Rottnest island with its quokkas is an interesting place.
Rottnest has over 780,000 visitors every year. Wonderful place!
Look into the history of Pitcairn island and Norfolk Island and then you will understand about their language .
1901 Interpretations Act section 2B /15B defines Australia, When the word (includes) in a legal sense it excludes anything else
(1) Australia , when used in a geographical sense, includes each of the following:
(a) Norfolk Island; (b) the Coral Sea Islands Territory;
(c) the Territory of Ashmore and Cartier Islands; (d) the Territory of Christmas Island; and no other external landmass
Australia has some really beautiful islands. However, a little perspective, Finland has over 75000 islands... Most of those aren't that big though.
Beautiful country ❤️
A kangaroo island beach became the second best beach in the World what a fantastic thing for Australia.
Lol, Omg Tasmania (tassie) actually didn't get left off the map
I think we own an island just off Scotland as well.
I can't believe Muralag (P.O.W. Isl) was on here ❤
They didn't mention Australia's last penal colony, England. Also known as Australia's most populated state.
Every time you say island, it sounds like your saying Aliens lol, anyway, Norfolk island i knew about, i am a Tasmanian, but i didn't know about the language part, that was new and interesting to me for sure.
Norfolk island was settled by the mutineers from the Bounty with them and women from Tahiti in 1856
I think Kangaroo Island should be renamed Wallaby Island, its full of them.
sorry but i swear i was hearing 8000 Australian aliens.
Cockatoo Island is so haunted
Pulbah Island is nice .
Only if you live in lake mac :)
I'm going to Kangaroo Island tomorrow for work. Hahaha classic what are the odds of this video and myself going there
Australia also owns over half of Antarctica!
They are all Australia, of course we know about them and their history.
how could one forget rottnest island ,penguin island
God bless Australia
