Honestly I really like those smaller "simpler" animals in planet zoo. Just so charming and cute. Really excited about this series.
I think this should become a children’s zoo so maybe in a empty area you could add a playground or giant anteater habitat. :D

Sometimes I find that making a smaller mini zoo helps tons with motivation and inspiration, sticking to a smaller variety of animals and keeping a similar theme throughout. I struggle with burnout when I'm creating something huge and brilliant with tons of pieces and complex animals, it's so common to get stuck. I hope you enjoy creating this farm and find it more relaxing! I love it already :)
seeing you take this project a little easier (just being less stressed with money & challenges, and instead focusing more on letting your creativity flow) is making me feel excited to pick up Planet Zoo again :) I like trying to take things on without a zoo aspect sometimes and instead more like a national park, which is not really what PZ is built for, but this is inspiring me to recreate my grandparents' farm. Your farmstead/zoo is looking gorgeous so far!!!!
I think the weeping willow trees would be so pretty in a habitat with a pond perhaps.
You should hang one of the new small tires from a tree as a swing.

I was super inspired by this build and made my own lush alpaca/llama meadow! It looks so pretty - I even used your white fences from the workshop. So exciting having the game now so I can actually take direct inspiration like that. Keep it up! You give me motivation to create in this game!
In Dutch petting zoos, they very often have KuneKune piggies, they're super cuddly and cute :)

I only play franchise mode, but I don't mind you creating this series in sandbox at all. Just love to see you building zoos! It's so relaxing and inspiring. Even though Im super excited for this series to continue and be finished, please don't feel pressured! Do it your way. We'll be happy to watch
Also of course we love when series are finished, but sometimes the best thing is starting clean. Don't worry about the Eco Island. Nothing bad will happen if it doesn't get finished. Everybody will get over it like adults. Dont let your anxiety tell you otherwise ❤

I once talked with the people running the barn yards at our local zoo and they put it really well: often times people who live in the city never get the chance to see farm animals in real life. To them these are exotic and interesting. Hell I still meet people that have never seen cows, goats, pigs, horses, sheep, etc. Especially cool uncommon breeds in our area, like highlands, belted Galloway's, Jacobs sheep, Nubians, lamanchas, silky chickens, etc etc.
i do have to say i love the idea of putting floors down to map out what youre trying to do. ive been so stuck with layouts that its kinda giving me inspo to try this.

and the pig found in petting zoo's you're referring to is called the pot-bellied pig in English, I think. Not sure if that's the one you meant. (De nederlandse naam is hangbuikzwijn)

they definitely should've expanded on terrain generation & backdrop customization more. I often get inspired by the existing terrain & background scenery more.
I've been feeling zoo burn out too, I'm glad I'm not the only one. This has been the only pack so far I really don't have an interest in but will likely buy it just to keep my copy of the game complete. Always love watching your builds and even though I'm not interested in the pack, your talk-throughs and building skills are always soothing to listen to while i work.

I had a zoo burnout for a while until I saw my balders gate hours were about to eclipse my zoo hours and suddenly my brain was like "well we can't be having that!"

The Smithsonian national zoo has a kids area filled with farm animals and this pack made me really excited to make something like that for my zoo! Plus I haven’t found a game that lets you raise chickens so I’m very happy with that addition!

This is an empty map from the Twilight pack's scenario zoo! The mountain was where the castle was. You can even see the slopes where the paths went!

From the description you gave of the pigs it sounds like what we call kune kune pigs. They are quite scary looking but very docile making them a good addition to petting zoos globally. But its just a guess based on what you said so i could be wrong. 😄

I have been burnt out too and have taken a step back from zoo for about 6 months, only just started slowly getting back to it now, and only played a couple hours! It sucks but I'm glad you found a way to keep it fun for yourself and for us ❤️

PZ burnout is real- I'm lucky if I play one a month or two & when I do it's mostly just doing a scenario or something as I'm lacking motivation to finish builds or start new ones atm. I have been thinking lately about starting a new small zoo with a hard limit on the number of animals, or taking over a scenario zoo & revamping it etc.
I love the stonework around your planted area, looks so natural.

Haha yeah! I hate it that I ended up with the same wood.. I really didnt know what else to pick! Im thinking maybe to recoler the barn to a more warmer and lighter brown color to make it feel different from the tropical franchise mode barn 🤣

As for what this place would be called, from personal experience I've been to places like this and they are normally just called something farm. Sometimes they are called animal parks or wildlife parks if theirs more than farm animals, but that’s just what its like in scotland, i don’t know about the rest of the world.

I love your plans for the barnyard animals! I try to build just for the fun of it as well but I find it difficult when the game says the plants don't belong 😊
i found something massive u can do with guests now with the new petting exhibits! u can make guest walk over self made bridges and paths without having to put paths underneath. if u create an petting exhibit. guest are able to wonder in that hanitat like personel. so u gide them were they have to walk with elephants grass hidden under the earth. u can force them to walk over bridges or small paths how u never were able to do before, i tested it and the guest dont even have to pass the gurst gate. as long as they are in the habitat they can wonder over bridges and such. i was able to build a beautiful japanese garden with small bridges and paths using this technic.
Rudi Rennkamel also texted me about this 2 days ago 😅 But I personally wont be using this anyways 😅 I find the guests randomly walking around in such an overkill in general super annoying 🙈

oh guess im late to the party hahaha. but the random walking around can be fixed with some elephant grass underneath the ground to keep them walking where u want to should u want to use it anyway some times
But doesnt the elephant grass hurt the traversable area of the animals? 🤔

I noticed that if you turn a habitat into animal encounter, the free roaming guests can even climb custom-made stairs like keepers do. I wonder if you could turn an entire park into one animal encounter habitat (for chickens for example) then you wouldn’t have to worry about building paths anymore 😂*update: tried, didn't work unfortunately... :D
Will you include other farm animals other than those from the DLC such as the swan, peacock, ostrich, Australian emu, etc.?

As an Aussie I have never seen a petting zoo with emus or ostriches.

Being burnt out from PZ is such a mood. I've neglected my poor animals since October of last year but felt too burnt out to play again ;_; I feel so guilty, my poor babies. I'm so very emotionally attached to all my animals and make memorials every time one of the dies (literally have a place called "Remembrance Village" where it's filled with teeny tiny houses named after one of my animals, with a picture of them inside the house) and because of this I tend to struggle to play Planet Zoo.
Like for example, my three-year-old zoo just lost our first lion (been around since the near beginning) and I loved him so much I got really upset when he died. I have his cubs running around but I had to step away from the game to emotionally recover xD

Delady please, other than barnyard animal pack animals you should add Przewalski Horse Mute Swan and Llamas they will fit perfectly, also the peafowls too, the last time you managed peafowls was on Meilin Zoo and they r my favourite animal in the game

I've been playing with the Barnyard pack (love it!) for 2 days now, but I have a problem with the donation bins. I receive no donations for my chickens and pigs. Is this normal (no donations for farm animals or encounter habitats) or a bug? Does anyone have the same issue?

I just got the DLC and was really excited to play, but I am unable to get franchise mode to work. Whenever I try to open animal trading, all menus stop working and I cannot exit out of the pause menu. Seems to be a bug thats been in the game for over four years, and now I can't play the game whatsoever because of it. Hopefully frontier support helps.
I wish they would add more barrier types to the game. I don’t have the time or patience to make my own out of the scenery pieces 😩

One of my friends is trying to find a 3d realistic zoo game, do any of you have suggestions or is this the best one?
I used to play quite a bit, but I still don’t care for how fast-paced everything is. I like being anle to admire my animals and watch tjeir personaities. But it's a lot of micromanaging. I stop playing a lot of zoos because the pathing has been acting up and I almost can't even add paths off the enclosure gates despite everything being flat. It is frustrating

A bit disappointed after realizing how much was missing from this pack. :( No tractor? No hay ride? Not even working assets? Sort of feeling like this was a quick money grab. Even the missing wood fence was odd. I'll just wait until it goes on sale I guess. Went from excited to realizing it was just another half attempt by Frontier. Again... At this point, we all deserved something beyond amazing! The game is getting dated, and something like a hay ride/track would have been an obvious add-on to help Frontier keep it's followers. Instead, as many, I just will ignore the game until and /if they ever add more ride options and something different. THis was not it!
Honestly I'd bet things like hay ride etc are more likely in the works for planet zoo 2
