It’s also a mock-up of what the media were writing about Madonna at the time. They were making her out to be a gold digger and a “bimbo” type similar to Marilyn Monroe’s feigned persona, but Madonna didn’t want that for herself. So she took it and warped it. Some people got her humour, others didn’t. It was quite genius how she turned the rumours around all the same.
