Erosion is the action of surface processes that removes soil, rock, or dissolved material from one location on the Earth's crust, and then transports it to another location where it is deposited. There are two types of erosion classified in system, which are given below
i) Geologic Erosion
ii) Accelerated Erosion
Based on accelerated erosion, this erosion is classified as
i) Water Erosion
ii) Wind Erosion
Water Erosion is define as the removed of soil by rain water running rapidly over the exposed land surface. The progressive rate of water erosion is totally dependent on the factors such as land slope, soil type, density of vegetative cover, rainfall intensity and amount.
The water erosion is again sub divided into @Raindrop_erosion

@Rill_erosion
@Gully_erosion
@Streambank_erosion
