They should state the difference between the peroxide they are using and the stuff available in stores to the public. None of these reactions are likely to happen with commercially available Hydrogen peroxide.

I worked in a shop rebuilding starters & alternator and rewiring of commercial vehicles after school,So being around batteries & battery acid all day my boss pulled me over to the side and showed me the many gallon jugs painted bright green in the shop,it was baking soda & water mix.IF a battery explodes in your face, pour the mix & it will neutralize the acid.A week later my boss had a battery explode in his face,,I was standing behind him when he was knocked out."I THANK GOD he took time to teach me about safety,,Baking soda & water kept the acid from doing any damage to his face.He recovered with no scars."I Became a SAFETY DIRECTOR for a major oil co.,now retired.

I actually do not think the video shows 35%. I think it shows 90+%. I have worked with this concentration extensively and 35% can't ignite anything because it is 65% water. You need about 90% to boil off the water and *then* reach temperatures to ignite with something easily ignitable, like grass, wood or leather.

Here's a little real world incident with hydrogen peroxide. I used to drive a tanker. One of the companies that I used to transport for was Degussa, a manufacturer of hydrogen peroxide. While traveling through Lancaster, PA, I had to make an emergency stop. The material in the tank rushed forward and a very small amount of liquid squirted past a pressure relief valve. As the half a dozen drops or so hit the ground, it sounded like gunshots. A nearby cop saw what happened and called the fire department. Because of the very high concentration of hydrogen peroxide (I forget how high but more then 35%), they evacuated a mile around the truck until they were sure everything was safe. I'll leave it to all of you to just imagine what other highly dangerous stuff is going down the highways.

I have a book about the rocket planes of the Third Reich, for example the Me-163 with the cold and the hot Walther engine. And the pilots who flew them. There are some descriptions in where they had accidents and where the pilots got soaked with hydrogen peroxide with a concentration much more than 35% and that they were dissolved. At one point in the book it is described that when a plane was being refueled, a bee came into contact with hydrogen peroxide and immediately burned.
All the time I thought this was somewhat exaggerated. Thank you for proving me wrong!

    • @michaelshultz2540

If you get hydrogen peroxide on your skin in rocket fuel concentration you will burst ito flames. It reacts instantly with the fat in your body. Very dangerous. And a man who was fueling one of those nazi death planes actually had that exact thing happen to him. As he had forgot to put on his protective gloves before fueling the plane.

I was Methyl Hidrazine. Luftwaffe realized it was so dangerous that developed the protocol of refueling the plane by providing the two liquid in separate moments. The crew and truck that pour peroxide has a different color than the crew and truck that carries the Methyl Hidrazine. According to safety protocol both crew and truck should never be at the same place at same time.

In the late 1970s a trucking company known for low balling freight then jacking up prices if you want it delivered in the next six months tried that with somebody shipping barrels of high test hydrogen peroxide. When it went off it flattened a 300,000 square foot warehouse. Blew out windows blocks away. It was about 12 miles from my home. A coworker of mine drinks peroxide on a regular basis for health. The %35 food grade kind. He swears it fights cancer and everything else, and it keeps you healthy. After watching this......I'm not so sure. However, if our cells die because of lack of oxygen, then maybe peroxide can help in some way? I'm not a doctor and if you try and talk to one about this, they simply will not discuss it. They could loose their medical license for talking about it.

    • @petesevern7638
      @petesevern7638 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@Chriscovelli1 I did similar back in the '90s. I'd put three or four drops of 35% food grade peroxide in about 8 to 12 oz of water, or juice, and drink it down - on an empty stomach.
I did this daily for a few weeks. I DID feel a difference in my vitality and my health DID improve. The only reason I quit doing it was It has a very metallically taste that I absolutely hated, and it made my stomach feel a bit queasy.
I doubt very seriously a doctor would lose their medical license for discussing this. You got to remember The oath they take.
However, 1) Doctors are not taught these kinds of treatments in the usA, and 2) doctors are essentially drug pushers for The drug companies.
Supporting hydrogen peroxide would not be in alignment with the doctor's loyalty to the drug companies.
You gotta follow the money trail, in order to properly understand a doctor's loyalty AND agenda.

There is a reason they use concentrated Hydrogen Peroxide in mono-propellant rockets... simple, safe if stored properly, and very energetic. Only one liquid to store and pump over a Platinum catalytic screen. Reaction chamber similar to combustion chamber in fuel / oxygen powered rockets, but much simpler.
Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) has lots of Hydrogen and Oxygen. When it breaks down, it gets very hot, it forms water (high temperature steam) and there is an extra Oxygen Molecule left over. Some applications add a small amount of a Hydrocarbon like Kerosene. That reacts with the extra Oxygen and increase reaction heat as the Kerosene burns and increases output thrust.
Unfortunately concentrated Hydrogen Peroxide can be misused. It is a primary ingredient to produce TATP, a primary high explosive produced from Acetone and Hydrogen Peroxide. It is a favorite among terrorists making Improvised Explosive Devices (IED). Both ingredients can be purchased in concentrated forms to be used in other industrial applications. Because of the misuse, you can't buy both ingredients together.

I remember when i first got 50% hydrogen peroxide for experiments to do at home, i was just messing around and i had dissolved about 5 teaspoons of sugar into around 50 mililiters of peroxide, i put some into an aluminium can and put that above the stove, where i heated it with a open flame. The reaction is, really slow to start at first but around 1-2 minutes in itll start to pick up pace, and at one point it evaporates all at once. When i did it, i was waiting around and i suddenly heard a "wshhhhhh" sound getting louder and louder by the second, i lit a paper towel on fire to put it over the hole of the aluminium can, within seconds of that wshh sound a HUGE cloud of what seemed like the water vapour or smoke RUSHED out of the little hole at the top, above i was holding the burning paper towel, and about half a second after i saw that cloud of smoke BANG: I saw a very defined, smooth, kind of like a jet afterburner-like flame come out of the hole and it was LOUDDD, my ears were in that state where, something is loud enough to make your ears ring for half a second but then it just feels weird for the next minutes, like REALLY loud but not loud enough to full on ring your ears, my ears were like that! After the first initial "defined flame" shot out, and did that to my ears there was a jet of fire also shooting out that was more of like the sound of a potassium nitrate-sugar rocket engine if youve ever heard or made one of those, after around 2 seconds the whole thing stopped. I was in shock and i just turned off the stove and sat down after disposing of the can properly. It was, from what ive heard from a fellow amateur chemist friend MAYBE the hydrogen peroxide being vaporized, and gaseous hydrogen peroxide detonating. Or some sort of reaction because of the sugar, however pretty much the same reaction happens even without the sugar. Its a really interesting thing, and hydrogen peroxide is really not to be messed with! Especially at concentrations above 12%, it can really damage your skin. Ive gotten a couple drops of 50% hydrogen peroxide on my skin before of course, and it hurts like hell and bleaches the skin for a few hours. As far as i know, the reason for the bleaching, or white coloration of the skin where hydrogen peroxide made contact with is because it is releasing millions of microscopic oxygen bubbles under your skin as it decomposes, and that causes it to appear white. Real scary stuff, deserves alot of respect!

This explains what happened to me then. Not long ago, I had put some off the shelf from the dollar store peroxide on a clean wash rag to wash my face and within seconds the rag started getting warm and by about 30 seconds, it was too hot to touch.
This was a fairly new, plain and ordinary cotton wash rag from Walmart or dollar store and it had puzzled me till now on what happened. It never did burst into flames but I do believe that I rinsed it with water when I finished washing my face so I’m not sure if it would have ever ignited but it was certainly hot enough to go up for sure

Right under the # of Subscribers, it says, "35%+ Concentration of hydrogen peroxide". Apparently, some folks need to read, before posting comments.
And... 35% is easily available over the internet. I bought 4 G.'s of the stuff some 8 or 9 yrs ago (I ck'd recently - still avail., at that same site).
Yes, it's wiser to store in some form of vented container. Or, if not vented, at least loosen the cap every so often (for a 1 G. container, maybe every 6 months, min.). Also better if stored in glass containers; despite the safety/breakage issue (as with any potent oxidizer stored in glass).
Mine came in plastic bottles (my 2nd purchase from the folks, so it was no surprise). Over the years, they sat on the shelf; one gallon at a time being slowly used up... until only two full G.s remained - on the (unfortunately) out-of-sight shelf I had them sitting on (yes, I had certainly bought too much at once, for my humble needs).
Unbeknownst to me, the plastic became brittle, holding that potent 35% H2O2, over maybe... six years?
When I went to break out the penultimate bottle, I found that one had developed a crack in the brittle plastic, and had slowly leaked the whole gallon out!! The shelf it had been sitting on was laminated particle board, and the H2O2 ate about 18" x 30"'s of the 18" x 48" shelf; reducing it to a thick sawdust texture; on the floor. Fortunately, it was a/the low/est shelf, and the other, non-leaking gallon was on the far side of the leak, so managed to remain on the firm/uneaten portion of the remaining shelf.
At first, I'd thought, "What! Have I got some sort of crazy termite problem?!"
Upon investigation, I realized that I was QUITE fortunate - that the leak was (apparently) sooo slow... that the shelving never caught on fire.
And I HATE screaming smoke detectors... so don't run/use them. So... ... ... it could have been a pretty bad deal.
Anymore, when pouring it into smaller containers, I wear long, industrial/heavy nitrile gloves, a face shield, and make sure water is readily & plentifully available, should it be needed.
Yes, at 35% the stuff is very hazardous. Get a drop or two on your jean-covered leg, and you'll be shortly alerted by the burning pain, and be rushing to get some diluting water on it, ASAP (very effective, BTW).
You can believe I handled the remaining bottle VERY carefully, as I transferred it into a glass bottle. Once it was empty, and the new bottle secured, I ck'd the old (plastic) bottle out. Holy cow! Brittle as all hell; almost like paper. I was fortunate it hadn't leaked also, or simply broken apart in my hands as I xferred it.
I dilute my H2O2 to 12 to 15% for my personal use. Lots safer, that way.
Anyway, if you DO procure some 35% H2O2... I sure hope you heed the video; and... the story I've added, here.
Be careful; and good luck to you, if you do. :-)

If it burns organic compounds, then why doesn’t hydrogen peroxide burn my skin when I touch it?

    • @naamahdarling
      @naamahdarling หลายเดือนก่อน

It's very very diluted in the form you get from the drug store, so no, it won't do this to you. Interestingly, though many of us grew up putting hydrogen peroxide on minor wounds, that is no longer recommended, as it does impair wound healing. It kills bacteria via oxidation, but it also doesn't make a distinction between bacteria and healthy cells. So yes, technically, when you touch drugstore hydrogen peroxide it is burning you. Just not very much. On unbroken skin it is mostly harmless. If you ever wind up with a patch of fresh blood on a piece of clothing and you pour hydrogen peroxide over it to help get the stain out you will notice that along with a copious amount of thick brown foam the reaction will also create heat, the foam is hot to the touch. That's the same thing that happens inside an open wound, just on a larger scale. It's neat stuff but I have stopped using it for first aid. 😅

The pilots wore chemical suits in flight, and even then, it did not prevent some of them from dying horrible deaths, being violently dissolved when the highly caustic fuel would sometimes enter the cockpit during operations. This stuff looked fairly weak, compared to the German rocket fuel.
