  • With bone health, you won’t have any physical symptoms or other indications if the condition of your bones starts to decline. That’s why many of our clients want to share their own personal experiences and the challenges they’ve overcome on their way to healthier bones, and bodies. As with many issues in health, the information we give each other is often as valuable as the guidance we get from our practitioners.

    Dr. Brown ,
How do feel about the low intensity platforms along with diet.

The research is not real strong just yet, but I do think the low intensity machines might help very thin women. Let me know if you give it a try, and consider joining us for our 2020 Better Bones Solution Retreats. We have one online in June and to others in person later in the year. Those 4 day events are a wonderful opportunity to learn everything I know and enjoy our community. You can find information on the retreats at betterbones.com

Astronauts experience bone density in space. Vibration therapy is one of things that they do back on earth
I added standing on a vibration platform 10 minutes to my daily exercise and I built up my bone density.

Can you add a link to the "dome" exercises Janet mentions. Thanks!

Hi Sandy! Janet mentions an exercise that's part of one of Gina's videos on our Better Bones Exercise Evolution Channel which is a membership subscription (if you are interested, you can learn more about it here: bit.ly/2G1fFLf), but here is an explanation of something similar: bit.ly/2DkQ1mf

I’m vegan plant-based and all vegan MDs like Dr. Michael Greger, Barnard, Garth Davis, T. Collin Campbell have talked about protein and that it’s in all plants and just more concentrated in some (legumes, beans etc.). She might be interested in Dr. Kim Williams a vegan cardiologist who has some good talks on video.

Are you kidding me? I'd like to build up my bones better but no way am I going to give up meat!! Humans are made to be omnivores not vegetarian or vegan! I'll admit I need to eat more veggies but not at the expense of a tasty piece of meat. Some meals I only eat meat but if I have to give up those meals I'll just go get the hip replacements, thanks.

Hi Charlie, I ate only fruit and veg for 25 yrs then in 2013 had spinal fusion which was a disaster. After the surgery the brilliant (😏) doctors decided I should have the bone density scan. Yep I was osteoporotic. I've never driven, walked literally thousands of hard miles swam in competitions captined the volleyball team for 3 yrs in secondary school etc etc. I was raised in an era where real milk was the norm, I ate cheese, veges all the good stuff. So all the indicators for osteoporosis are poor nutrition, lack of bone building movement and so on. By rights I shouldn't have osteoporosis, but there it is. In 2019 I started eating meat again, not huge quantities because I eat smallish amounts but enough to get all the requirements. I eat 2 eggs daily plus supplement with 4000IU Vit D, magnesium turmeric K2 and a couple of others I also have collagen powder. My score was so low that a temporary doctor said I must have Prolia injections. I refused previously for 9 yrs but he frightened me with his predictions. I've had 7 injections (1every 6 months). My last dose should have been last September. I said no more, my regular doc is wonderful she wasn't happy, but agreed on condition I have another scan in March 2023. It's only next month, but will not restart the injections. I believe what I'm doing is right for me, I have limited mobility after 3 spinal fusions. I struggle to walk without pain, I'm doing upper body weights just with dumbbells at home. Anyway I'm sure meat, eggs, sardines (only in summer) veges and Greek yoghurt has to be healthy. I do what I can, if not eating meat for 25 yrs was better then why have my bones and muscles deteriorated so much?? Sorry for the lengthy diatribe but the full story needed to be told to understand eating meat again. Cheers Rosemary Perth Western Australia 72yrs
