    I would like to use this for my no money jazz education show. ok with you? This is the featured song and you gentlemen are outstanding examples of jazz musicianship. I do all my own filming, some playing, and editing at KLTV in Longview, Washington USA.

    where is the bass?

    • @PaulBJazz
      @PaulBJazz 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a Hammond B3 organ....the organist is playing the bass with the foot pedals....

      in this case the bass line is played by his left hand

    • @zaj58
      @zaj58 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gerardrouger7458 ....and using the pedal for accentuation.. just lightly taping the same note ..not letting it create full tonality just a a little "thump" sound that he combines with his left hand notes to give the bass a little extra presence and depth...a technique created by the great Jimmy Smith ..that most all jazz organist have adopted..

      +Inez Karkabe ---This version of the Freddie Hubbard jazz 6/8 standard sounds rather too 'lightweight' after you have heard the versions of it by Mark Levine Trio, or by George Coleman.... but well, it's still quite pleasant maybe for a lazy hazy sunny afternoon...

      when you play live music, these things happen.. recordings are a different matter alltogether as are real concerts of the greats where sound was most important and people were actually listeing instead of blabbling... playing live music in cafes or hotels or theatres or festivals, those are entirely different things. ? right ?

      And when it goes for up came springtime, I like Abbey Lincolns version best !
      This video I liked and for my own purposes, used at the time, to practice and rehearse her lyrics on.
