Chris Burgess I know why she left, lol! But, in the long term scheme, she wasn't meant to portray Gloria long term, by way of fate, hence why she chose to depart the role.
I loved JVA as Gloria. I will never forget the scene where she sprayed perfume up her crotch while she was getting ready for a date with John! There was something that felt much....looser about the way she played Gloria compared to Judith

Even in 2004, there was something about Y&R's production that still had a classic feel to it.
Y&R was good in 2004 really good it stop being good in mid 2006.

Thanks for posting this. I've been trying to find JVA's debut as Gloria on TH-cam for a while. Great debut, in my opinion.
I just wish she had gotten to work with Ted Shackelford again, they were a great pair on Knots Landing.
I live in hope that Knots Landing will one day be rebooted ... with the original cast!

Joan wasn't necessarily bad as Gloria. But she wasn't meant to portray her for the longterm.
She actually left Y&R because she wasn't accustomed to the rigors of filming a daytime soap and its demanding production schedule!
