I like to add this , after reading other's comments ! As I can see, students are full of gratitude for your lessons that , try to make sure that it's helpful to them instead of doing it for those who already have been practicing and know something. It's difficult for beginners to catch up if it is hi fi and making a presentation of your skills or efficiency. So that way your videos are very relevant and thoughtful .
Video was very student centric, providing valuable techniques for them to take up for a tension free examination and clinicals. Useful to beginners too . Thanks doc for the earnest efforts!!
Dr Stevenson, your videos are a great help and as a dental student I use a lot of your tricks and steps and it helps me a lot in the simulation lab and clinics. I do have a request that a lot of my classmates including myself are struggling with, would you be able to show us how to make the finish line very smooth as in the videos it seems that this part is edited..if you can give some insights on how to approach that step along with how to do it in the patient's mouth while avoiding to trauma to the pulp because of the slow speed and heat generation that would be a great help. Thanks again for all the help..
Take a look at other videos and you'll see more unedited details. I've been trying to keep the vids short, but will definitely produce some minimally edited detailed work for the subs. Thank you for your thoughtful request!
Hi Dr. Stevenson. I am one of your big fan for the crown prep. Would you mind to upload a video about acadental 20 for ceramic crown I am still kinda confused with the occlusal. It will be a great help. Thank you very much !
You are my favorite virtual teacher.I have 2 questions- 1.how do you measure interproximal reduction? 2.I feel hesitant to use 1 mm bur for interproximal clearance what alternative can I use pls.
Interproximal reduction is measured by the following". 3-5 degrees of axial wall taper and 1.0 mm shoulder (better termed "fillet") depth. Use the 7878L-012 or even the needle bur 859-010 or 850-012 to break through the proximal and then move to a larger diamond. Best to you!
Yes, this is possible - so for now, use an end cutting bur like a 8839-010 to remove the J. Eventually you'll be able to run the bur inward and outward while cutting the finish line and remove the Js simultaneously. Thank you!
Do you find that doing the interproximals like you did here (dropping it incisal/gingivaly), can often make the finish line wider than intended? Does it work the same with a chamfer? thanks!
Place 3-0 silk suture in the sulcus for minimal gentle retraction and safety. The 10-839.010 is a tissue-protective end diamond which is also very helpful. Thank you for the great question!
Hi Dr. Stevenson, it's a good educational guide. Humble request to you Dr. I need a post graduate level video that should explain " burs in tooth preparation ( Including dimensions and Use) and sequence of order" I hope you will do make it. Always waiting for your video Thank you for contribution.
Alright ill try doing the margins on posterior teeth the same way. What slows me down the most is the inter proximal reductions.@@StevensonDentalSolutions
Dear respected Dr.Stevenson, Thank u for this beautiful and awesome video. Regarding to the bar, i'd like to order from ur website some bars. would u mind if u send me the website link. Thank u.
Hi Dr. Stevenson. Thank you for the wonderful video. I was browsing through your all ceramic crown bur set in your online store and wish to ask if it is applicable for all ceramic preparation for lower posterior teeth too? Or additional burs are required. Look forward to your response. Thank you.
Yes - this is a surprisingly challenging fixed dental prosthesis - #9 and #11 have different draws, so the FDP forces you to prepare the individual teeth differently than if they were single units. You can always see the FDP video on my website...there is a small fee for this but it's really a good tutoria

Great vedio!! I still don't understand how you got such shoulder using KS0. Don't we( beginners) run the risk of producing a J margin very easily?
Yes, this is possible - so for now, use an end cutting bur like a 8839-010 to remove the J. Eventually you'll be able to run the bur inward and outward while cutting the finish line and remove the Js simultaneously. Thank you!

thanks!
Onlay if you position the diamond too far axially - if you leave a thin shell, you usually end up underprepared axially, giving you room to finish.
Onlay here sounds like a good pun
I look so forward to your videos! I have learned so much.
Great - keep watching so much more to come!
Thank for another great video. When you need the margin 0.5mm subgingival how do you prepare the buccal margin without nicking the gingivae?
Place 3-0 silk suture in the sulcus for minimal gentle retraction and safety. The 10-839.010 is a tissue-protective end diamond which is also very helpful. Thank you for the great question!

I think you will find this in the FGC prep video in my TH-cam library - let me know
Thanks 👍👍👍
Thank you for such an amazing video !
Thank you!
Thank you for this video. What is the tooth made of? It seems really soft!
A type of composite resin - proprietary info Acadental Company
Hey Dr. Stevenson,
What would you say are the biggest dental all-ceramic suppliers in the US? Just doing an assignment so I thought I might ask you :)
Lithium Disilicate: Ivoclar (I.P.S. e.max) and for Zirconia it's likely to be Glidewell (BruxZir)
Thank you doc
My pleasure.
Hey Doc,
What are the alternative burs for Dentist living in Sudan.. I couldn't find your burs in the market.
Regards
Try Komet or Meissinger
Is it advisable to do interproximals like you did here, on posterior molar?
Yes I would prep the teeth similarly, with the exception of less occlusal clearance for zirconia.
Alright ill try doing the margins on posterior teeth the same way. What slows me down the most is the inter proximal reductions.@@StevensonDentalSolutions
Try the 787K-012 to break contact and then follow up with the KS0 - might help a little. Thank you!@@ReanimatedShad0w

The ACC kit will allow you to prep all of the various ACCs for all teeth. Thank you!
I would love to see a video on the prep for a resin modified bridge #9 and #11!
Like a Maryland bridge? I can do that for sure!
Stevenson Dental Solutions yes thank you so much! I’m having trouble with my #9 and #11 having the same path of draw.
