I loved your makes and thank you for sharing everything that isn't sewing related. Great job!

Thank you! I always wonder if I should split sewing and non-sewing in to separate videos but I've gotten such nice comments like this so its been fun to show the random makes!

I love the color of your velvet dress! 😍 Please do a tutorial on the pattern weights, that would be awesome!

I like both your knit dresses too. As I was watching the first part of your video re your lace dress which ends up a bodice, I was thinking you should just add a knit skirt to that bodice then I saw your mauve knit velvet and I wondered if you had any of that left over because that would be make a pretty skirt to your lace bodice. Fancy but somehow more casual at the same time :) Your jar of soap paste was SO interesting! What a brilliant idea! I make my own sunblock (have for many years) and thought this would be fun to do! Enjoyed all your makes - your pattern weights are adorable, pot holders are gorgeous and your cover for your serger I thought was dandy.

Thank you so much! Yeah, I have my bodice in the UFO (un-finished objects) pile for now but unfortunately I have no more of the mauve left but that is a lovely idea!

Hi Allison, I am really intrigued by your pattern weights. Would you consider doing a video showing how you made them?

Thats a great suggestion! Every time I make them I clean my local hardware store out of the right size metal washers so I'll have to see if they have re-stocked and get more haha!

Enjoyed your video! Love the velvet for your dress. And I totally agree, sewing is all about having fun and going back to what makes you happy is always satisfying! Also, I really like those pot holders!! So cute 💝

+ChelzHeartsART Thank you! Yeah, it was a hard lesson for January to just go back to what I love instead of what I think I should sew but I am glad I learned that lesson.

+Lynda King that is a great ideas! I've tried to film my pattern process before but it turned out a mess of bad angles and really unclear. I think maybe I should start with a simple project like my knit dresses.

love your crushed velvet dress but I also love the bodice of the original dress. perhaps you could do a plain colour skirt, even a contrast colour would be good and think of a different shape than you origionaly had intended then you may not think bridesmaid

The see through lace and lilac material would look great as a Simplicity 8252.Look up Vintage on Tap vlog as she's made it and you can see how beautiful it looks(the pattern cover does not do it justice). Could you show how to make soap.

Oh wow that is a gorgeous pattern! I am by far no expert at soap so I would recommend Soap Queen tutorials here on youtube. She also has pretty comprehensive safety videos (because I make cold process soap it involves lye). I've thought about making my own soap videos but mine would probably be more about the process rather than a step by step guide.

+Sally Dingle I just finished a previous unfinished velvet dress after I filmed this and I am trying to keep myself from buying all the velvet now! Haha!

Love your video and all your makes. Do you have a tutorial on how to make the pot holders?

+Maopa Lutui I do not have that tutorial yet but that is a great idea! Such a fun scrap buster project!

Thanks for sharing the failure, though I really like it. I am making my first coat. It's taken so long and so much work. Then my previous project was a skirt where I chose the wrong fabric that totally raveled and was so hard to sew, I ended up throwing it away. So, all-in-all I lost my sew-jo. I'm watching vlogs hoping to get inspired and enjoy sewing again. You helped - with your pot hold success and serger cover. Thanks for your inspiring words.
Glad you got your sewing excitement back. Post your velvet dress for the #smyly2018 challenge?

+Sage Preaumx It really seems like January has been a challenge for a lot of people! I've seen other videos of sewists with the same theme and that really helped me not feel alone. I am glad I could help you and pay that forward!

That floral lace is so gorgeous! Could you make two separate pieces - a bodice from your lavender velvet and a skirt on elastic band like Emerald Erin did here - emeralderin.com/2018/04/dior-inspired.html
