my brother once got these home, I'm not usually a picky eater but those don't taste good(it was salty) Also I was so suprised to see lithuania edit: the cookies weirdly tastes like bread(and very hard), but soldiers usually eat it with the provided honey
That weird cookies we ate more with tea or coffee 😅 and at the momenr when we got struggles with stomach strikes 🙈 or sometimes that one not bad when You don't want to take some sweets to child 😁
"they don't taste good it's salty." It's meant to be highly nutrient dense, calories, fat, fiber, sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, protein and Vitamin C particularly. These arent meant to taste GOOD, they're meant to be palatable and edible. They are not usually supposed to be used more than a couple weeks or a month tops, but some special forces and infantry units can end up going months on MRE. Source: I'm a USAF Veteran.
This video reminded me about how crazy military contracts are (basically oncall to work any hour of the day) with the bonus of military leave being 30 days in a year if you were to add up being paid minimum wage for each hour (using min wage being 9 euros) it amounts to 78,000 euros per year while most entry level jobs at the army only pay between 25k - 30k its less then half what any of them should earn. Don't join the army point being :P
Ex Army here, can confirm. I make more now in my food service job than I did in the military. And considering the number of hours worked and you're salary, you end up making less than minimum wage in the lower ranks.

This particular ration contains 1486 kcal. Two of these might cover the daily calorie intake required by active soldiers, though I don't know how the Lithuanian military operates. Gotta remember you burn more calories out in the field, compared to if you're working a desk job.
