I am learning relief carving and sharpening with the stones takes more time than what you spend carving. I am getting one of these to cut down "boring" time. Thanks for the review, glad I ordered it!

Yeah I tried stone sharpening and realized that sharpening your tools like that could be a separate hobby.

This is the first time I've ever been the first viewer on a TH-cam video! Woohoo! I have a WS3000 also, it's a great tool and makes it easy to sharpen! Ok, back to watching this...

Thanks for the unbiased review, great job ... Have rwo WS 3000 ,12 YEARS EXPERIENCE USING. Trick 1 switch to diamond Lipadairy disk, last much longer Amazon or Bangood ...l Diamond grit is corser than sandpaper grit...

I used to work for the company that makes the WorkSharp. They also make the Drill Doctor. Great company located in Ashland Oregon.

The hole in the back is so you can flip it around and sharpen gouges with the see through flappy disks by eye.

Ah that's right. I haven't used the see through discs yet. Thanks!

Couple of questions now that you've had this for 2 years. 1) Is this your only sharpening solution? or do you complement this with wetstones, or some other sharpening method 2) Have you tried sharpening kitchen knives. How much sand paper disc do you go through in a month, year? Nice review.

I've used wetstones before but this is just so much faster. I'm looking for quick and effective. So yes this is the primary method for anything I can fit on it. Haven't tried kitchen knives yet, but there are a few favorite grits that I like to burn through. It is a bit frustrating that for chisels you only sharpen in one or two spots so you can't use the entire piece of sandpaper. I usually go through a few sheets every 6-9 months but I'm also not a full-time woodworker

Does this company provide a leather disc? Most experienced woodcarvers would insist on it ex. Tom’s Wood Massager

It's not actually leather, but they have a final disc that's a different material for the final step.
