Prince fought against the industry he would go to meetings with "slave" on his face protesting against the music business. Prince also fought against warner bros & he won, he even went gold & platinum after winning & sold millions worldwide. When people say you can't win against the big machine that's not true at all, it's just the way you do it. MJ didn't win because MJ was obsessed with being in billboards and tabloids & was addicted to the mainstream life. When Prince went independent his voice did get smaller because the mainstream radio stations stopped playing his music, the same thing will probably happen to Drake but that doesn't matter if you really care about music. Prince did 21 nights straight at the 02 arena, this was YEARS after being independent & Prince sold out ALL 21 nights. The music machine only has power over you through the mainstream eyes but the fans will always support you. Just like Kdot will be just fine as an independent artist but Drake is destroying his own career going after youtubers. Sad.
