I am glad that the Corporate Finance course is back in New Year. Last year I became aware about this course in April, so had to catch-up and did not manage to do the project. This year I plan to follow the lessons timely (watch the videos each week) and do the project.
If anyone else is having trouble copying the tests into a google sheet or word document I found a clunky workaround. 1. Download the PDF 2. Open the PDF from your machine (not browser) 3. Copy and Paste into a Word Document (each word will be pasted on a new line. 4. Select All, Find and Replace ^p with ^s. 5. Manually reformat the rest. 6. Copy to Google Sheets (optional) Step 4 does not work with Google Sheets.
How taking cash out of the business would help? That can be seen as making 0% return on the available cash. Does taking cash out of business give us some other advantages? Please enlighten
At the end of the day its about making value for shareholders, so taking cash out of the business and returning to them makes sense if a company is unable to find worthwhile investments!
Hi please help anyone I want to learn Financial Modelling, Valuations from scratch I'm a 2nd year student Please tell any resources from where should I learn? Also is financial accounting needed for it?
Watch Aswath's old videos or if you are from India start tracking stock market and do you your own valuations by taking into account different financial ratios
If the hurdle rate is low and the ROCE remains the same then the difference between the two will go up! & there will be more left for the shareholders! I hope you understood
Hurdle Rate Is the minimum required rate of Return on a investment so simply it means that the cost of capital invested would be less which means risk on the investment is low and the return More than the Hurdle rate will be the profit and we can distribute that profit to shareholders then shareholders would keep investing their capital in the company. Dividend paying company is better for the shareholders. For eg. What Piyush meant was If the required rate which would be equal to the cost of capital any thing above our cost/minimum percent return needed for that investment to be profitable; lesser that required rate then return generated would higher and higher. Sorry if maybe this made it difficult
Hey commenters, would any of you be interested in doing this course together on some discord, etc? Not a MOOC that gives qualifications but maybe we'd get more sense of accomplishment than just watching the videos by ourselves, plus we'd have some to be accountable to, to keep us on track, etc. I'm aiming at something like 4-8 people as that's what the group project requires but even if it's just one other person it would be cool. I'm in the CET (GMT+1) timezone so if we want to actually hang out and talk on a voice channel maybe we'd have to figure something out but doing it async, each one at its own pace and sharing insights/findings and questions would be the main bread and butter of it I assume
Enjoyed every minute of the lecture as well as your great sense of humor, Thanks sir.
thanks for bringing back the video professor
