My male is full grown and massive. I've had him for 3 years, and seems like he's getting more aggressive, and more hateful. I used to be able to get him with a glove on a stick, now he attacks it with full thrashing power. I've tried on and off the entire time to tame him, and he just won't let me get close. I built him a cool terrarium, and keep it up.. Good tips I think, it was hard to find much info when I got into owning them
I enjoy ur videos brother...it may b witty or sarcastic to some,but it's also entertaining...show doesn't seem scripted...ur doing great for most of it to b on the fly for lack of better word. Also very important that ur honest with it...i know ppl scared get bite by baby geckos that u almost don't even feel...an then they be tokay geckos lol. Can't wait for nxt video man Im actually trying to do same thing myself learn breed inventory an seel...I've always loved my critters so it's something that I can enjoy hopefully it all works out. Dude what is the background music for this video at 5:30! Also yes dude people can pound sand their bite is intense. However I’ve had mine for a couple days and he’s been awesome! He’s allowed me to hold him a couple times as I’ve had to move, clean, and about to rebuild the interior of his paludarium. I enjoy the vids and learning as much as possible for the care of the little guy
I just got an adult wild caught tokay and the keeper was hissed at and it tried to bight him when he took it out of the cage, and the first hour I had it before even putting it in it’s cage it let me hold it and it crawled around me doesn’t bite or hiss and i don’t have to hold it around the head or anything
Cork tubes are absolutely amazing for every reptile species you can fit into a cork tube. Little tubes, gigantic tubes, all the tubes. They look awesome, they’re functional for the reptile AND if you have custodians. UNLESS you ever want or need to move the reptile. Then don’t ever give them cork tubes. You’ll never get your reptile out of cork tubes haha
Wish I watched this properly sooner . Got my new cb baby tokay yesterday. Spent 4 hours trying to put him in his new enclosure. He bolted when I went to put him in his new enclosure and I had to rip apart my whole reptile corner to get him back . Only been bitten 6 times so far .
4 months later with my tokay . Hes still angry 😠. the only thing that will make you not want to own a tokay is actually owning a tokay . Gloves are a must I have so much respect for you being sol calm getting bitten .
We are trying to find a morph any ideas of where to look? We have a extremely dark female and a light blue with super bright red spots and one egg but we want a few more morphs.
Sorry people call you a wuss for wearing gloves. That is just uneducated people or trolls. Personally I use gloves with the majority of my reptiles that bite. For those that would comment like that: Sure I could grab a small snake and it bite me and that is that. But here is the problem with that. First it could damage the teeth of the animal and cause infections for you or your pet. Second when training an aggressive reptile, sure one bite wont be a big deal but when it is repetitive and/or not stop. It keeps you more calm and thusly helps with the taming process. I recommend gloves when dealing with any defensive reptile regardless of size and bite force. It is not just for you but for them as well!

I know a few people that catch them with bare hands in south Florida. With that being said, it is not the smartest choice!
I use bare hands but mine is only smol.
