Toronto St. Patrick's Day Flashmob by Tourism Ireland

- Tourism Ireland, together with the 100-member newchoir, Maureen's Reel Irish Dancers and the Celtic Dance Centre, surprised and delighted an unsuspecting public with a Glee-style performance of Irish favourites "Beautiful Day" by U2, "Brown-eyed Girl" by Van Morrison and "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol at Yonge-Dundas Square in Toronto. The performance was coordinated by Tourism Ireland, Scott Pietrangelo, Maureen Mulvey O'Leary and filmed and edited by Casey and Kody McWilliams with additional camerawork by Nathan Legiehn and Brook McWilliams.
What is it about the Irish? Always first to put a smile on people’s faces and have a good time! 😄

Ok, I've been putting it off for quite sometime. As of today I have decided that I am going to come visit this summer, perhaps in May, and I look forward to jamming with folks there and hopefully meeting some distant relatives!

I'm old enough to remember the original when it was on the radio circa 1967 when I was in my mid-teens. I loved that song by Van Morrison.

@Jeffrey Remick: Flash mobs ARE organized events! Whatever convinced you that they weren't?!? Look at all of the best and most famous ones to date. They ALL involve PA systems, microphones (hidden or otherwise), multiple camera set-ups, you name it. Hell, even some of the worst ones involve pre-planning. That's how these things work. And this one's a real treat!

@Soulrak87 Ehh. I'm in that square all the time and there's always some equipment around and puttering near the stage for festivals and whatever. Looked like a regular day in the square from the video.
This year they do it, but freeze in typical Hogtown horrible weather.

Yes we may need the Irish to have a good time. If we can't create a good time ourselves. But we don't need a lot of alcohol and drunks. Creating chaos and problems in our society. Because theirs always one bad apple or grape. That spoils the whole bunch.
