I got this record when we were one of the first 100 visitors of a rave party called Mamaloena, in the north of Antwerp. It was quite common in Belgium that record companies give a limited amount of records away for free at rave parties in the 90s.
You know the memories this song brings back are so strong I try to play it as little as possible. I don't want them to fade away like a perfume losing its smell when the bottle's been open for too long. I still sense the smoke and see the strobes and I like to treasure that.
The intro sample is from the introduction of a TV show called 'One Step Beyond', so I think it's probably from one of the episodes. There is an episode called 'The Stranger', but the sample doesn't appear in it.
