I was a single earner in India, 2 kids fees for a private school, home loan and a Car loan, with high tax I ended up with out much savings or investment after moving we paid off 50%of home loan using PF, rent from India taking care of expenses back home, My decision to move to Sweden as a single earner turned out to be better, free education for kids good public transportation work life balance, As we did in India we need to adapt to weather hot summers and cold winters, winters with heating to stay home in T shirt,Play board games, or indoor sports, read books and summers to explore outdoors.

Is it really free education? I learned that only Swedish language govt schools provide free education, if you choose English like we are doing in India for our children then international private school is the only option, and when I research about Stockholm international school then it's huge, one time non refundable admission fee 50-60k SEK and then monthly 10-12k SEK for grade 3 or 4 students, so could you please elaborate how you manage your kids education in Sweden, it will help us as we will be moving to Stockholm in next few months, thank you.

We moved to Sweden last year and we have been following your channel since then. Seeing your videos on how the work life balance is good and how much free time one gets in Sweden, me and my wife used to joke that we will wait to see your opinion changing once you have kid :) Jokes aside, we moved here with super naughty twin boys and irrespective of India or Sweden, having maids/nanny or not, even with or without grandparents, our lives is super hectic and chaotic with kids. But at the end of the day, it is very rewarding and fulfilling and totally worth it. Happy parenting and best wishes :)

I think weather will hamper most those who come from north and south India. But for those like me who come from the Himalayan regions of India, it would not be difficult to get used to the weather in Sweden and other nordic and scandinavian countries. In my place in rains a lot throughtout the year and we hardly get to see the sunlight. So yeah, will try for Sweden soon. Currently I am living in Ireland and I love the weather in northern Europe. And more I am attracted to the Viking culture that forms Ireland and the nordic countries.

Very good points covered which people generally miss. Though there is work life balance in job but all the household and outside work is to be managed on your own without any help or services and may be stressful.
Salaries in India recently have gone up like anything. So earning and saving shouldn't be the reason to come abroad. Quality of life may be the only reason.
Lack of social circle and loneliness are also factors that need to be considered as you mentioned. Its very difficult to make friends and maintain a social life similar to one back in India.

@@pinakiroy2447 As I have mentioned it may be stressful. May be you are perfect at doing everything, everyone is not. Yes people from India may find it stressful and difficult sometimes to do electrical work, buying groceries, managing cooking and extended family without any support. I don't think there is anything wrong if someone expects services. Its a very common thing in India for the working class. I just wanted to give a real picture of the things one may have to adjust when one shifts abroad. Not sure what is wrong in it. Its good that you manage everything on your own. 👍

Also due to Gov change, Companies are trying to avoid people, who need WORK PERMIT and prefer people, who speak fluent Swedish. Those who are willing to come to any foreign country just do PPP calculation in your current india and future foreign package.PPP= purchasing power parity
for ex: if one's future company in sweden giving net salary 30000 SEK (after tax)permonth
but he/she getting in India 80k per month net salary (after tax)
both are equal life standard (big metro indian cities ) 😂 but i dont think we will get peaceful /calmness atmosphere here in India and on the other side i dont think getting 30000 sek also can manage a family with kid in sweden but with 80k in india can manage

As a general rule, you can no longer come to europe to make money. because after pandemic and war in ukraine, living expenses are out of control, even in germany.
You come to europe to have a peaceful life. To earn in europe and take your money back to india, you would have to live here for 15 to 20 years. It makes sense to do this if you are starting from scratch in India.
