I swear I've dreamt about such a tutorial by you yesterday (although in my dream it was a basketball in a game catching fire)...never mind... and here you are with this one which is as close!
@@danielvanderkaaden8502hi Daniel, recently i tried to download your project file through description box but seems it's not work anymore. could you please update the link?
oh hey, thanks, I had issue with the camera view not coming out, until you pointed out to connect the imported cam to the render node. thanks! other fine tuning, but that was my big hang up, thanks.
REALLY nice seeing some VFX tuts. I hang out on the discord server and did some LIDAR scan tests, imported cam tracking from fusion and imported into embergen. SO glad to see all the amazing improvements for the VFX minded, since the beta last year. just really really promising. my 3090 is smoking scenes like nobody's business ha ha!! great tut!
It's overall amazing! But at the end, the fire is popping up of the scene. May be it'd be needed a bit of desaturation or a greenish tint that sunk the fire in the space of the footage. Some z depth adjustment. It's good noting that despite the two flames (real vs Embergen) really match eachother in an isolated shot, that same flame is not matching exactly well the scene. Sometimes it's needed to "lie" the real, in order the results to be more "realistic" (more credible, plausible, expected) A paradox may be, but it happens all the time in paintings and any art that emulates the real thing, cgi included.
I believe that Daniel had figured that out through his own test comparisons against the real fire he recorded. His other methods of retiming are probably more applicable at a wider scale.
Dumb question. How moving your imported meshes to get into the voxel box does not make it goes out of sync with the imported camera/footage ? Update : Nevermind, now i see you exported the Mesh along with the camera and Embergen recognice both in separate. Interesting.
Very useful tutorial!! thanks a lot . However I have a problem I can't seem to have flames already present when I export from frame 0 like in your tutorial. In the export node I have to start the first frame at 50 until the flames appear but the problem is that my camera tracking is shifted. Could you help me please? Thanks
Hi, sadly I'm seeing this comment just now. But in the global transform tab of our Import node, you can set a Time Offset. This way your fbx can start later so the simulation has some start up time for your flames to rise. Note that this parameter is in seconds based on the timestep.
@@danielvanderkaaden8502 hey man. Great tutorial... but in the latest embergen, I don't see this option, OR the retime option you mentioned elsehwere. Any suggestions?
What's the best method for using in games? Just bake to transparent texture for mapping on a plane, or are there some kind of volumes we can use in games (like volume texture sequence or something)? thanks
Even today, best to just bake to a flipbook (transparent texture/ sprite sheet) and put it on a sprite in game. There are some tricks you can use with depth in your shaders etc to get more realistic depth on something like a torch. Putting it on a sprite will help you make it responsive to moving around in game too as you can shear the sprite vertices to make more dynamic looking fire.
I have a doubt can anyone tell .......how to avoid those fire trails in ember gen while throwing mesh upward fire get trails. In this video also i can see trails but in nuke i don't see any trails....did u mask it out
This software looks incredible... The only thing that is missing imo is an option to make more realistic simulations (like those of houdini) even if it isn't going to be that realtime anymore
I'd send the file to support @ jangafx.com and we can look into it. Sounds like the camera is being exported improperly though. Support will be able to give you good pointers :)
I give up. I have tried for weeks and cannot get an embergen simulation in my after effects composition. Nothing works like the instructional videos. My trial expired. I quit.
Send me an email personally at nick @ jangafx.com and we'll try to help. I can extend your trial too so that we can get you the help you need. Would love your feedback and understand the issues you're running into. If you're on discord, that's even better.
@@jangafx WOw nick! I cant thank you enough. I was working on my project yesterday and I used after effects CC particle world... So disappointing after being spoiled with embergen... Yes yes I will email you... Thank you!!!!
Damn, it this is freaking insane!!!! Do you guys have Software Resalers in South Africa? I would love to push this product? I am thinking it will do well in the mechanical industry for our simulations of mechanical animations!
The comparison between the real fire and embergen's fire - nailed it!

This should be the tutorial that answers the same question we’ve been reading for over a year!
This tutorial is sooo good! I'm using C4D and AE but I can still transfer everything you sad in my program. So thanks a lot for your video
Talk about learning curves 🤩 Thank you so much for this tutorial! Please keep them up!
Great Job this Realtime Software giving really good quality work , I'm waiting more tutorials EmberGen to Unreal Engine .
We have plans for unreal tutorials as well. Stay tuned

Awesome tutorial with the complete pipeline covered! :)

Really excellent tutorial. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome! More please. Just purchased yesterday 🙂
The camera button doesn't appear when importing the file to EmberGen."
Great tutorial. Thank you
Love this so much. I hope you optimize UI a bit more so we can use it more easier (and much cooler lol).
nice one!
Very clear- great work!
Great tut thanks! My timeline in Maya begins at 1001 frame, any tips?
AE+Embergen Blender+Embergen tutorial pls
Amazing
Hey Janga team I was hoping you could shed some light on where the value of x3.7 (09:19)for the retime comes from? Thanks!
I believe that Daniel had figured that out through his own test comparisons against the real fire he recorded. His other methods of retiming are probably more applicable at a wider scale.

O.M.G.......thats it..
I don't see the replay speed option, what do I do?
How should it be made in after effects?

Please, can we have a mac(native arm) version of embergen?
Its planned.
How do i export with full color like the preview i get in the software?
cool!!
Will Embergen be compatible with the after effect tracker camera?
Off course you have to take that tracked camera to a 3d software then export it to Embergen as fbx

I am having problem my original footage and embergen output doesn't align correctly
I mean the embergen sequence is moving slow according to the footage and the preportion also bit offset
09:40 If you slowed it down in Embergen and not using framestride you should speed it back up in compositing.
It is not just the speed problem. It is not aligning properly even I speed it up in oflow. Position of the fire is not on place
Every time I try importing my baked camera from Maya embergen closes, any idea why this may be?
