Liane Voelker exactly this!! Why do people have to attack people for everything? I have no idea who she is and frankly I found her a bit annoying but from what I can see she’s a confident and determined young woman who’s spreading a really valuable message to a whole generation of kids at a time that it’s really needed. Plus I think there should be more music for kids - there really isn’t much nowadays, good on her for trying to fill that gap!
I think an issue people experience is that the infantilzation of young women and girls is very real and damaging, and the stuff JoJo may create artistically may be harmless but it's also a little bit dumbed down, and we think our children and teens are capable of absorbing and appreciating more intelligent and complex themes and entertainment. Things can be "not grown up" and still challenge our children intellectually and artistically.

I don't know Jojo very well, I don't keep up with younger generations all that well, however, can someone explain to me why she is getting so much dislike from the comments. To me, from just this interview and some of the others I've seen, she looks like she has her head on her shoulders, not all child performers are going to turn out like Britney, Miley, and others. From what I can tell she has her family support, she has people to help her organize her goals, that's a lot better than how a lot of people do. I don't see her turning out to have a huge mental breakdown, honestly, the performers that have public mental breakdowns are those that have no support, no one to turn to, their life is as messy as the media butting in. Yes, shes a pop idol, but I see it as a lot more organized, a bigger group effort and more support than what others have, so why is she getting so much hate. Did she do something? I think she’s a really sweet girl and the concept behind her bows is so beautiful, but with the price point on these bows (most are over $10, up to $20), it usually ends up being upper class kids that have a massive collection, and tend to make fun of kids from lower class backgrounds that don’t have a “real” JoJo bow...
But then there's children like my daughter who got bullied because she didn't have a jojo bow, we couldn't justify paying £8+ for one. We eventually got her one for Christmas that year and she was then bullied AGAIN by the SAME group of girls because they werent cool anymore 🙄

Its really sad. Those bows are her trademark and shes going bald because of them. Im sure she wants to quit wearing them to save her hair but cant.
She's made videos and she understands that's what the right ponytails do but she said she's used to it and find it strange to have her hair down - so it is by choice/default, not because she's forced to! :)
@@slovakgal I dont feel she is forced to wear the bows but I do think as a 16y old child with multi million dollar sales wrapped up in the marketing of those bows, she may not be making a wise decision for the future of her hairline. These concerts and her ability to entertain children as she is doing today will not last forever and when its all over and the bows are put away, she may regret that she didnt put her receding hairline before the bows. And I find that sad. Im not judging her, im concerned for her.
