      @benjaminzaoui9683 4 ปีที่แล้ว +47

      It's the first and arguably most important consideration. If you ever listen to RIP you know this is essential to keeping the weight of the bar over the midfoot and allowing for a linear bar path. I do the same. You are also considering stance width, symmetry, and toe angle.

      Don't forget to do RDL, Hyper extensions and good morning's for lower back and rehab exercises for lower back as well such as McGill Big 3.
      Long term, if you don't do these, you might injure yourself.

      @@TheLaughingMan_ no actually. Pulled 450 two different times and 455 once. Had 2 minor injuries that set me back. I've made big strides in the other lifts and have a 200, 300, 400, 500 pound goal. Press, bench, squat and deadlift. I'm close 185 press, 280 bench, 380 squat (below parallel) and the 455 deadlift. Seems like the deadlift is going to be the hardest. I turn 62 on March 1. I will hit the first 3 for sure. Deadlift will take longer.

      @K QH wow hard to believe this was 4 years ago. Yeah why not? I don't do team athletics and it's based on competing with oneself to procure a physical victory. I don't consider a lot of what is televised to be sports as they are only concerned about entertainment, fame and fortune. All these "heros" have done more damage than good to our society, they were blinded by the idea of a high paying career and then duped into believing that they are accomplishing something that is important. Playing basketball, football, soccer...whatever...it's all been about marketing, profiteering and distraction for a very long time. Gambling is one of the many snares linked to the destruction of man, sometimes someone wins but a lot of people lose. Losers don't move forward in life because they are burdened by the choices they have made....no one ever stops to think why these choices exist if they can lead to one's demise.

He was talking about people that lock up and then instead of lowering the bar they just let it go at the top of the movement. He clearly goes down and then when the weight is about to reach the floor he lets them go.

      @@dallasdominguez2224 that''s the thing about OMS- it takes years to accumulate. Stay with it, and you'll have it when you get to the last half of your life.

      No doubt! I just love all these "expert" commenters and critics. I'm certain each and every one of them runs a weight training school, and have hundreds of people watching their videos. Everybody is an expert, it seems. Keep movin', Rip!

    I literally just came from a video where Mark said only pussies drop the bar after a deadlift. loll

      Daniel Balanjay that wasn't a drop.

    • @AzureKite
      @AzureKite 6 ปีที่แล้ว +55

      he was talking about people that drop it at the top of the movement. He didn't drop it as much as he slammed the bar into the floor on the way down. Notice the difference.

      Watch the XFit games. In the lockout they relase the grip and the bar free fall of the top

    • @obits3
      @obits3 6 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      A fast eccentric is not the same as “dropping the bar.” Dropping the bar is letting the bar free fall without your hands touching it. The difference is control verses no control.

    Rounds his back
    Exhales at the top
    Doesnt drag it down
    There you have the coach of Starting Strength

      Mushin Aesthetics
      Rounds his upper back for cutting range of motion down (mentioned in the book) besides that he had a motorcycle accident.
      What‘s wrong with exhaling at the top? You need nowhere the abdominal tension at the top as in the beginning. Squeezeing the glutes really hard is IMO just fine.
      Can‘t see any dropping of the weight. It‘s a pretty controlled letting it down

    As long as the upper back rounding diminishes as the lift continues...and doesnt increase it's a solid generally safe techniques for advanced lifters and heavy singles only!!!
