This song has never been old to me. Anytime I hear it, I cry and gets new meanings to it. My mother has died 4 days ago in Ghana and I'm in Vancouver having a new baby in my hands. I cant'stop listening to it
English translation to the best of my understanding; It's a dirge for Miriam Adwoa Pinamang who hailed from Bogu Asante. She was his sister-in-law; married to his younger brother called Abu Kwasi. She died during child birth. The child also died in less than two days. During this period, he (Nana Adomako Nyamekye) was overseas and circumstances beyond his control denied him the opportunity to pay her his last respect. Therefore, he'll go to her resting place(grave) to pour libation whenever he gets home (return from overseas). He adds if it's possible he could die in her stead for her to live and take care of the children she's left behind.

I lost my favorite and lovely sister in Ghana on 15/03/2024 while I am outside Ghana and for one reason or another, I can't even attend her funeral. I left Ghana 5 years ago with hopes of getting a better life so I can put smiles on her face. Her husband died in September 2020 at the age of 41 and left her with 2 kids. She has been a single parent taking care of herself and the children and at the same time financing her university course all by her own efforts. I had planned to go home this year to see her and let her know my plans for her but unfortunately she passed away bitterly after not seeing me for 5 years. Our mother died when I was 5 years old and out father also died in September 2018 and one month and two weeks after his demise, my sister who is next to the one who passed away this month also died and left behind one kid. Now it is left with me and my elder sister in the family and pray God gives me the strength to continue living (since I have lost interest in this life) so I can take care of the children and give them a brighter future. Rest well my ANGEL!
Please don't lose interest in life dear but rather encourage yourself and pray God continues to uplift you to be able to fulfill your purpose in their lives and that will make their spirits very happy coz they know their children are not lonely and miserable after all. It's well
