With all due respect I think what sir said here maybe a mistake. Shankaracharya just wanted to eradicate tantric practices n unify all branches of Hinduism. He didn't want to destroy Jainism or Buddhism

Though Jainism and buddhism doesn't harm anyone and is almost in accordance with vedas but they don't believe in the existence of bhagwaan. Without accepting bhagwaan and without his anugraha one cannot get jnana.
