Cracking rebuild. Had Hojlund while doing Atalant save (where he starts) and this guy is just amazing. Lost Zapata and Muriel early, no problem - Hojlund emerged and became top striker in Italy.

For the opting to leave thing. Had it with Hannibal with United. Feel like its more of a bug as he wanted to leave to play more elsewhere but he was essientially a starter for me. Tried offering him a new contract as everyone was trying to get him on a pre-contract but no chance. Wasn't having it. Im sure on previous FMs you had a chance aha

Amazing rebuild gents, I had a feeling that when you rebuilt Southampton, because they were ripe for a rebuild given recent form and sacking their manger, that it would be with youth to gold rules but didn't expect this result, well done. If I could suggest a rebuild that I'd like to see, it would be Copenhagen. They may not need a rebuild per se, altho they are below where they'd expect to be in the table and had a slow start to this season, but I find that they always do well in this FM and always see them doing well in the Europa League/Conference, often winning them after a few seasons. After you get some of the bigger teams done, I think they'd be a fun rebuild, see if you can match the AI and get them a Europa or a Conference League win

I remember Southampton playing Bayern Munich in the opening of St Marys. Think they drew 1-1. I remember watching sky sports news before my walk to school, and seeing Anti Niemi pull off the most insane save! I only saw it once and have never been able to find it since.

I won my first season with Southampton. Mohamed Salisu 36 premier goals from a cracked corner tactic. Thanks to the skipper with 20 corner taking, JWP. First season I immediately sold Che Adams. Brighton bought him for about 40 mil and I rebuilt the entire squad. Terem Moffi, Myron Boadu and Marcus Thuram led the attack, James Ward Prowse, Cole Palmer, Carles Alena, Scaldvini, Kephrem Thuram, Yunush Musah, Romeo Lavia and Fran Beltran controlled the midfield and Mohamed Salisu, Zabarnyi, Correia, Livramento, Parisi and Walker Peters led the defense while I had Dutch wonderkid Bijlow between the sticks. We outscored all the other teams in the prem with 126 goals. Probably one of the most fun saves i've ever had

I know Luke referenced this in the first 30 seconds of the video but in my mind Southampton are probably the perfect club to attempt the ‘Youth to Gold’ philosophy with 😂😂 the Southampton of old, when they weren’t a club scrapping for survival every year, seemed to focus on developing their youth prospects for a profit and not buying players who lack a resale value 😂 their list of successes such as Bale, Van Dijk, Lavia and Walcott are tremendous examples of their old philosophy and it’s commendable that they managed such a lengthy stint in the Premier League utilising that operandus

Any tips on applying the Y2G method when starting out at a team with next to no money & not in a big league
It’s so hard in a lower league with no money to start out with. You’ve gotta rely on youth academy and free transfers and try and sell your big names for as much as possible to invest back in youth
tbf the chelsea loan army thing is a bit dated, weve actually not loaned that many players out recently, especially as the loan laws are changing chelsea have really shifted their model

Every time i go to nordsjaelland to buy one of their players i just see those fake players instead of schjelderup and stuff. How are you able to buy the real players from that club?
You need to add the league in mate at the start of your save
Add the players from that league in the custom database at the start when you begin a new game
