wow this is super informative- thank you! I was having trouble figuring out which size I wanted but now that I can actually see what will fit in there, I think I'm leaning towards the regular sized weekend bag :)
@@theresabeenhere5059Based on the dimensions, my guess is that it would probably be acceptable as a carryon + allowed to be stowed under the seat as long as it can fit there. Really good question though.
The weekender is hands down my favorite secondary carry on. I can fit a change of clothes, wrap, kindle, water bottle, travel pillow and meds with room to spare.
Yes, the cardboard bottom does come out, as does the Weekender cardboard bottom. I actually took the cardboard out of mine and encased it in plastic. Now I don't put it back into the sleeved at the bottom, I just fit it between the piping on either side, and when I want to launder my Grand Traveller I can just take the cardboard out, wipe the plastic covering off and pop the traveller into the washer. Thanks for the great comparison.
@@sabner32017 At the time I put it in a large ziploc baggy. But I've found a new way now - I print out a copy of the pattern from the Vera Bradley website, then I laminate to the correct size. it works very well.I use this method for all of my older Vera's that have the cardboard inserts.
I just got one heck of a deal at the Ross in Twin Falls, Idaho today! I purchased a Vera Bradley Grand Traveler (in the Hilo Meadow print, circa Summer 2019). I use packing cubes, so I expect that I'll get some major use from this bag for car trips out to California to visit family!
I was looking at the Weekender bag in that same print you have, which is on sale on the VB website. I think I'll definitely get it now. Thanks for the very helpful video.
The Grand traveler holds as much as a 22 inch suitcase. The Weekender holds enough for 2-3 days. The GT holds enough for 5-7 days. In fact I packed it for a week for hubby and I when we flew to San Diego when our youngest graduated Marine boot camp. And still got it in the overhead bin. The Weekender also works great as a diaper bag if you have a baby and 1-2 small toddlers.
The demo given left plenty of room in the weekender. I have one and compression my clothes and get in many more items. I just noticed these comments are from 3 years ago. I hope you found one and checked it out for yourself.
I lost interest right away because you were assuming that people are going to pack in the same manner as you just displayed. A more realistic method would have worked better for me, like planning actual outfits. I’m sorry I’ve seen better displays!

I have this same question-- did you ever find an answer?

Annie P thank you!
Annette Po How did you encase it in plastic? Can you show a picture too if that’s possible?

shady Lnu thanks for the info! I agree, the weekender is perfect for a diaper bag too.
Would the Grand traveler fit well on top of a smaller size roller suitcase?
@@Daniela-uz1lv yes. it has a trolley sleeve
@Chillin'WithMyPeeps Absolutely! I've done it!
Great video girl!!! Just subbed.
