I'm a local from hermanus
just started bodyboarding
any tips for big wave riding ?
For example , how do you duck-dive deep enough in 15+ swell?
there were some massive sets in today
one dude was out there and i tried to join him nearly resulting in getting washed onto rocks
i couldn't get deep enough
I am currently using a science board

how does one down play seeing a freaking whale swim right next to you in the lineup?...seen whales just yards from shore and that was magical imagine seeing one how he described it...he was obviously stoked on the experience and his buddy shot it down.

Those swells tend to be too stormy and messy and unrideable - this was from a 'smaller' day
